DSM 2g Eclipse IAC replacement

Quick tutorial on how to chabge the IAC valve on a Mitsubishi Eclipse with the 4g63 engine.

This was my issue aswell as throttle body... after i put sensor it didnt rev up high no more! Thanks bro... after the throttle body didnt have adjustable screw as it was stripped.. thanks again

one question, I have a 93 eclipse gs n/a, and i took out my IAC as well to replace it but the spindle is still stuck inside and i cant pull it out. please help

would this cause your car not to start cause i did have a engine light fir iac valve and it ideled off for a month or so and now it wont start wont turn over either

Old one caused you to idle high? Idk if I need to replace this, when I start my car it idles fine, but when I start driving the idle gets higher, eventually ill idle around 3,000rpms..

Why did you have to change it ? Was it reving up and down or just a code ? Thanks I'm having issue only when cold start after it gets warm it goes down to 800rmp..

Yeah I was having idle issues I don't think it threw a code though.

You said you tried cleaning the IAC valve initially... How did you do that? Does the IAC actually disassemble on these cars? This is an old video, so if you don't remember, no worries. I was just curious because the valve looks completely enclosed (meanng, no cleaning agents can enter it).

Felix Blacksher I tried with some MAF cleaner that was a supposed trick to get it going but it didn't work

Gotcha. Thanks for the response! I have to replace the IAC valve on a 97 Spyder (non-turbo), but it seems I have to buy the entire housing that attaches to the throttle body @ 250 bucks. So ridiculous. Most IAC valves, even on new cars are under 50 bucks but such is my luck with cars. I'm still going to try cleaning out the throttle body, MAF, IAC, etc. to see if that takes care of the Check Engine light. Otherwise, the car idles fine and doesn't seem to have any mechanical issues.

How'd you get the part so cheap? The parts stores here want 200 just for the selenoid.

Wow really? 200?? That's way too much. I just ordered mine from O'Reilly I believe but AutoZone had it for the same price and they price match. They're legit Mitsu solenoids too. Are you going to either one of those parts stores?

Yeah mostly they have to special order one. Rock Auto is 125 after shipping. I think my original past may actually be good. I cleaned it and it seems to be in tolerance.
