Got a question my throttle won’t respond or it won’t rev but it starts up and everything it gots a rebuilt motor with zero miles do you know why it won’t rev or go ?

sounds sick honestly now I want cams. What were the symptoms you were having? my car has a check engine light for idle air control system and it idles kinda high and when I turn the A/C on the revs dip really low and bring themselves back up. the more I do it the less it seems to happen though as at first I turn the ac on and it repeatedly died down and brought itself back over and over and then a few days later I tried again and it dipped 2 or 3 times before steadying itself and today it barely dipped at all but it did dip. code is p0505 and p1294

so I replaced mine cause I did a pull and my car wouldnt stop going from 500 rpm to 2500 so when I took it out I found the icv was literally broken into 3 pieces so it was letting in all the air. new one cleared my engine codes (p0505)

Did you clean it or replace it. If you cleaned it, then I’d try replacing it. If you replaced it then it could be something else then, maybe check your tps

I just got a 95 2g and it idles fine cold but hot it idles high and it idles high as soon as I cut the ac on.

Mos1nTV maybe try adjusting your bis screw down a little. Or could be the iac, it’s cheap and easy enough to where it’s a good idea to probably replace it if you haven’t already

How much did it use to idle before you replaced your IAC

It used to be all over the place. It'd drop to 500, then up to 1k, then back down to 500, sometimes lower and almost dieing whenever i'd stop or use the lights or a/c. Replaced the iac valve and it seemed to have done the trick, no issues yet.

Appreciate the quick reply, switching from a 3rd gen to a 2nd in a week or so and it has an idle issue that stays at 2k rpm 😬 it had no vaccum leak

Mitsubishx ah ok cool. You could also check the bis screw to see if it’s backed out. There should be a screw near or on the throttle body that you can screw in or out to adjust idle. Just a thought

My 2g 95 dsm won’t rev pass 3000 rpm and when taking off on 1st it’s a very slow start then speed picks up. And check engine light came on

Dude the stock intake is better than that "cold air intake" fyi that's not a cold air intake its pulling from the engine bay without even a partition. And another tip the stock is a real cold air intake just without the cone filter. Delete the filter box and run a pip to the hole left by your old intake and stick the filter there

SetCraftatMadSplash did I miss where I called it a cold air intake? Cause I’m 100% aware that it’s not a cold air intake, it was on the car when I bought it lol. That intake won’t matter here shortly when I put the Hahn 16g turbo kit on.

Me and a friend pulled the head apart when I first bought it, and found it has crowler stage 2 cams, and some head work was done to it. Maybe yours does too 🤔

mine had the same problems so i cleaned it followed all the instructions, i plug it into the wiring harness and it vibrates, but when i plug it back in the throttle body the car cranks and dies unless i rev it up but as soon as i stop revving it dies please help

Jahway Palmer it actually has crowler stage 2, .241/241 avg dur, 196/194 dur, @.050, .222/.224 lobe lift. Found that out while doing the head gasket 😉
