Recently Phil was trying to argue that it didn't matter if only a handful of whales were providing most of the support. I think he truly believes that when support starts to dry up a "new" whale will just magically appear and shoulder the load. This kind of thinking seems to be rooted in Phil's huge sense of entitlement and his belief that everything in his life is determined by external factors. Basically he believes that the universe owes him a sizable income and that it will be delivered to his doorstep. He just needs to sit back and wait for it to happen.
