Awesome find. That spreadsheet though!! Nice

I just ordered one of these, and the same exciter that you use in your starlord helmet... Building an audio system that will go into my mando helmet. Next step is figuring out a stereo system to amplify external sounds for better hearing of the environment! Hopefully all goes well, I love your videos. Keep it up!

Right on. Good luck on the build. I just picked up the Din Djarin helmet myself. I’m curious to know how your build works out on both the amp + reverb integration, as well as the stereo external audio amplification. I’ve not looked into trying the latter yet. Do you have an idea which settings # your leaning towards for your mask? Cheers! ( & thanks for the props)

@@creative-stuff I'm just learning these things as well so the idea is very basic.. Two 4466`s on each side (mic) to a common ground, with each signal going to their respective sides of a stereo board. From there, wire each to an old gaming headset I've disassembled as a mono input.. In theory, two mono directional mics should equal a stereo system correct? 🤣

@@creative-stuff I anticipated having some feedback issues using an exciter plus this microphone, so some insulation with foam and a balloon (perhaps heatshrink) to prevent any issues with moisture while giving something to absorb the vibrations

I’m going to use this to make model railway announcements with realistic reverb! Are you able to include a schematic or the whole circuit? I guess microphone -> mic preamp -> dsp reverb module -> amplifier -> speaker. I’m not an audio signal expert!

Ahhh a fellow model railroader - rock on! 🤘 So I’m imagining you mean you will record the announcements using your own voice and this device, then likely use a reed switch or timer or something to trigger announcements via a separate playback device? If you need single reed playback devices -let me know and I’ll dig up the info on reed switch players that are just like the hand switch players I use and trust. Your signal/system description is spot on !(mic, preamp, DSP, amp, speaker). But if you don’t already have all these parts, do it this way to combo items so you don’t have to do ANY soldering - if you don’t already have a preamp skip it and get this mic with built in preamp: amzn.to/4fNOEdq ($4-$13) > DSP > personal amplifier (an amp/ speaker combo - I recommend a version with a record option so you can capture directly rather than externally recording the output & introducing noise etc. - however I cannot make a recommendation based on recording, as I don’t use that option. ). It would be great to hear back on what worked out for ya. Also if you’d like to share your success on my channel - let me know and I’d be happy to help you share your success with others. Cheers.

@@creative-stuffthanks, actually I was planning on using it for live announcements and a few prerecorded sound effects for when I play trains with the boy. Thanks for the help I’ll keep you posted. 👍

Im no electronic expert. Im trying to find a way to power this and my other dsp reverb module with a 9 volt. Im no audio expert but do make music. Reverse reverb takes the tail and plays it in reverse depending on the effect pedal sometimes its done technically with multiple delays. Its used in shoegaze alot and i use it to mimic strings like violins and cellos. Gated gates it at the end.. i feel gated is pretty self explaintory really. Either way thanks for this video because it seems this has different reverbs than my aliexpress board and i just bought this one. I made a little effects unit in a 1590bb case on my channel with the other smaller dsp reverb module

For a 9v you’ll need a Buck converter to decrease the voltage to 5v. - Something like this should work: amzn.to/3ONiZ0w & amzn.to/45g8xE0 You may want to check out one of my videos doing a boost converter (same concept just converting up in voltage rather than down): kzbin.info/www/bejne/q5PVf2ajmLJ0Y5Y

Also, I think a lot of people do a shortcut by buying a USB phone charger battery which operates at 5 V if you’re looking for not something from scratch.

@@creative-stuffI bought some buck converters you recommended but I can't figure out what I'm suppose to do because I'm a newb and I feel the directions are a bit vague. I hate to trouble you but can you describe what I'm suppose to do. Like I'm technically confused what goes in the in and out. Do I have the 9 v power go to the in and the out the pcb or vice versa? Also how to I set the thing to 9 and 5 volts. Like the directions mention this mini pot, but also said I can remove a ...I'm assuming resistor? Haha man like I said I'm new at this. I just want it this and my other 99 dsp to run on the 9 vot my other pedals work on.

I’m not sure what Buck converter you’re using but if it’s the one I did a video on, I’d just recommend watching that. Your 9v power supply goes to the IN and the device your powering goes to the out. In my video I explain how to adjust the numbers to what you need: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gZ7NZKWkjcxsh5Y I think any of the other voltage changers I’ve shown in videos are converters / boosters, but for Buck converters I think this is the only one. However, I’m assuming you can find a smaller converter than this one since the one I reviewed is rather large with its LED display. I’m assuming that’s why you want to continue using your 9 V . I am also assuming many Buck converters out there are probably similar to the other converters / boosters that I’ve used before which are smaller with simpler designs that just involve putting solder over specific leads of a board. Be sure to check the Amazon write up for instructions cuz I have yet to ever receive any paper instructions with any of my purchases. I hope this helps.

@@creative-stuff I was actually talking about the converter you suggested about 2 comments on this thread ago and not the video about the other one you're currently talking about with the l.e.d display. No worries man I figured out what I needed. 9 volt in (power) 5 out (pcb) and how to adjust the mini pot for the voltage. There is a way to make it where I don't have to use the pot but I can't figure that out

Can we use output from stereo audio player as input instead of mic? And have stereo output too? What should be changed/add to the component?
@creative-stuff
@creative-stuff 2 ай бұрын
I don’t see why not, as it’s taking in analog signals - so you’d just need to merge your left and right channels into one as this device only takes in mono for audio input, but does have stereo for audio output.
