Nice brushes and can refill. Metal is very easy to clean paint off of. The stands and water basins are so narrow they are very easy to knock over.

I would think the spring isn't designed to let the tip move in and out to prevent the bristles from bending that would have to be a very fine spring. My guess is the spring is just to secure the ferrule in place without the need for precision tolerances.
