Can I fit a pen or pencil as I mark on very grainy wood and need to see the lines

How should i use it? To my Body or away from it. The knive ist triangular so one Side with Sharp end should use for the scribing Line. Or is it Not important? I have better results if i Scribe away from me, but there is No information about it... Greetings from Germany

Great video! I'm thinking about grabbing this tool. One question for you: if you slide the guide off the measurement rail, can the black section be used like at square? I've seen a competing product (that doesn't like a premium) but has the ability to become a t square. Multi use tools are a bit more attractive. Thanks!

Its Not usefull as a square, because it is to high and has round eges. The measurment is only to use it with the Same Distanz again.
