I bought a brand new DT125R in 1989. I ran it in as advised but after running it in, was disappointed that it would struggle to go above 60 mph. I had just pxd a TS125X for this and that would do 75 mph. Then I learned about the power valve. I altered it with the info I received and the bike would go off the clock (over 80mph) never knew its actual top speed. Only thing was, was that the lovely smooth exceleration it had standard was lost. It was pretty much dead till you hit the powerband and then it went mad.

I had a tzr with the same engine and know what you mean. My dt125re with the power valve controller is amazing smooth snd powerful. Thats what the tzr was missing

The small bottle on the side is a fual economy bottle alot of people change back to the older model carb boot to do away with it or just block it up if its fual economy its just another restriction but i don't think it makes much ov a deference if you want it to go faster take the air filter guide out & put your filter back in without it but i like everything standard myself has these are worth money & i like to look after them but nice to seeyou working on your bike pete

the bottle thats botled to the frame can be removed by replacing the pipe that goes from the airbox to the carb with one from an earlier DT model, it helps with pick up.

I have just bought an LC2 125 instead of messing around with these things. LC2 is stock 22HP, Mine has an exhaust without the stuff inside(empty exhaust) it has now around 24-25HP :) Plus I have a "200"main jet ;)

best exhaust on dt is Athena exhaust, gianneli work well to hi rpm

hi peter, do you know if this mod i possible on a tdr 125 1991 3sh1, because when I look at the connector with 4 wires with the green one, 4 come in in and 4 come out but the bike seems to stop revving when I get it to 8500-9000 rpm and I thought it was something with an rpm limiter. I know that the tdr and the st are very similar so I thought there probably is an rpm limit. if you could tell me if you know something that would be good. thank you

Hi Peter, Can you tell me iff the 91 tdr Belgarda (3SH)is using the same frame as the DT ? Airbox and exhaust look the same . ff it is i can get a DT gianelli exhaust. Maybe you know iff the tdr is restricted? Does not feel like 23hp to me. Thanks

I honestly don't know if the frame is the same one. I know the exhaust's attachments are different between the 04-06 dt and the older one. this is how to derestrict the dt (devided in different years), search for the 91, it could be the same for the tdr: www.slideshare.net/kerryprinceuk/derestricting-the-yamaha-dt125-r-1988-through-to-2007-scrimsmustangs-classic-yamaha-restorations have a look at this forum: dt125r.co.uk , they are experts on the topic

MichiEnduro you cut it and connect it to the ground (frame), it just closes a circuit that has been designed by yamaha. they had to do this because of the 15 horsepower law, but the engine has a lot more

Yes the tdr has same engine same has tzr dt125x dt125re Sachs derbi gpr ktml2 all of them have power valve some come locked & some with servo moter for top & bottom end power

Simone Gradenigo più lo allarghi e più devi salire di getti, con il carburatore originale ottieni solo coppia ai bassi ma la potenza max rimane la stessa, con un 32 o 34 mm puoi salire anche di potenza agli alti. io ho tolto solo lo snorkel e il sound migliora notevolmente

Nope Nope and Nope Full dep system and stage 2 shorty mate..you will find with black widow and Aarow they are very loud and if ya live in built up area and go to work on your bike half the town can hear you my full Aarow system was very expensive £480 for full rig and black widow was a bit cheap but very loud ...Now the full DEP system and shorty is not so loud but sounds the dogs bollox but also gives you full power ...

@@petertoridechannel9361 Peccato, avresti qualche consiglio da darmi per dare un po' di briosità in più ad un DT del 2005, ho montato una Arrow completa ma vorrei qualcosa di più, tipo un gruppo termico 170 e magari un carburatore più grosso... Solo che non so dove acquistare, qui in Italia le elaborazioni x questa moto non sono tantissime 🤬

c'è il 170 athena ma molti hanno riscontrato difetti di produzione e la potenza che si ricava non è molta. puoi salire di carburatore, ti consiglio sempre il mikuni tm ss che ha l'angolazione adatta al collettore del dt, e non oltre il 34. la cosa che rende più di tutto il resto è la centralina programmabile zeeltronic, peró devi saperci mettere le mani, se sbagli butti via il motore. se capisci l'inglese vai su dt125r.co.uk quello che so l'ho imparato su quel forum

servono per migliorare l'erogazione. alcuni allargano con il trapano quello vicino al cilindro fino a un diametro di 10-11 mm ma non cambia quasi niente
