Why does he recommend replacing knee with the foot when level changing instead of going forward with the knee drop??

You'll be in a more balanced position if you fail and it brings you closer to the ankle you want to pick

Also, if you shoot forward, you'll end up pushing him in front and his ankle will get even further

what exactly is the difference between pushing the head and shucking the head?I tried to see and listen I just didn't pick up on a major difference that made the light bulb turn on for me.

When he says push, he actually pushes the head to the left and away from him. When he shucks, he doesn't push to the away and left, but rather over the ankle that he has picked. The wording is a bit different, but the key here is that your pushing the head over the ankle you have picked, rather than to the left of the ankle, if that makes sense? I'm sorry, it would be a lot easier to explain in person :p

Jared Morris Thank you man you're awesome for trying to help and I appreciate it. Watching it over again I think I see what you are talking about. I also noticed new things maybe that he means to like quickly throw the head away rather than push the head away at least by the way he gestures his arm during that explanation. As for what you're saying you mean he just tries to throw the head back towards picked ankle rather than a little back and totally to side? that would make sense because if his head gets thrown back he can't really do the slide by on David but if his head gets thrown to completely to the side he still has a chance.

marsoc0326 yeah, pushing to the side requires you to extend your shoulder in that direction, which is how that slip happens because you're moving your entire torso to the left. Whereas if you push over the ankle, you're still extending your shoulder forward but in Thai case it's a good thing, because if you push him over the ankle, he falls to his back/bellydown, your body is already in a position to just follow your shoulder movement forward and hop ontop of him. Regarding the direction of pushing in terms of why's it's better to push over the ankle than anywhere else, is that when you push over the ankle, because you want him to go down, that's literally the only way he'll effectively go down without being able to adjust his body weight to defend, because you're pushing his head past his center of gravity by going over the picked ankle. Otherwise, his torso in no other direction can EASILY get out of his center of gravity, unless you have freak strength :p

Jared Morris Alright so back and slightly to side of the picked ankle and your still aligned drive through and follow him.Jared my man I said it before you're awesome it so clear and simple in my head now thanks bro. Nice to have such a great exchange on youtube and to walk away having learned something and better for it.

marsoc0326 peace and love brother. Explaining it to you is helping me better understand the move as well, I used to attempt the standard ankle pick that he shows initially, but could never make the trailing leg come out enough for me to grab it without reaching way too far. Then I saw him wrestle and realized he's doing a variation of the ankle pick, and his is so much safer, easier to execute, making it overall more effective :) btw, you can switch off to a single or double with the tie up hand if you want.

I know a technique That the moment someone Cup the back of my neck like that that would put Him flat on his back from His right side if he used his right arm hand. If he used his left ,he would flat to back left side. And it's legal but not Taught or practiced. But only if we same weight Class and close to same Height. and I won't be turning to get Away. But it's got to be done The moment pressure is applied to rear of neck.
