If you notice, he attacks the leg the guy is pivoting on, NOT the leg that Cael is moving with his circling motion. This is exactly the opposite of intuition, and of what many coaches will teach. It's easier to attack the leg the guy is STANDING on, not the one he is stepping toward you with. None of Sanderson's leg attacks ever looked "slick". It always just looked like the guy screwed up somehow. This is a very effective technique. It also works great for firemans.

It's not that John Smith was the greatest because of all the moves he knew. He's the greatest because he was so fundamentally sound that he was almost never in bad position. Smith really only used that low singe, and occasionally the duck under or high c.
