Hey friend , There is so much information and videos about DTF printers. But in the end everything is very confusing. I understand Epson has DTF printers but they cost a lot of money compared to those that do conversion. But bottom line, due to excess information I can not understand a simple question. What is the best printer that can be converted to DTF? Which brings out the best color quality, and which brings out the highest quality resolution, etc ...?

You need dtf inks if you planning to do dtf, sublimation ink if you planning to do sublimation and so on. Yes, you need to do maintenance to printer is recommended. Check our videos for maintenance or other channels since you can find many info on youtube.

Intenta usar un % de tinta mas bajo. Tambien un icc profile ayudaria a que los colores sean mejor pero nuncan seran 100% igual lo que tu vez en pantalla.

Hi Jose, I'm having problems with my Epson L1800 where, after having not cleaned it for 2 weeks, it wasn't printing and the nozzle checks were all really bad as you can imagine. Having spent hours unclogging all the nozzles, cleaning the printhead with cleaning solution and sucking up any water-like ink from each cartridge with a syringe, the printer is now printing in magenta only, with lines in between any design. I was wondering if you had any suggestions as to why this might be or what to do. Could the ink pipes themselves be blocked? I will be replacing the data cable to see if that helps. If not I will replace the printhead. But just wondering if there's anything else I should try? Or why this might be happening? Thanks in advance

The lines may be clog too after that long. Try to flush with a little solution and distilled water, maybe that solve the problem, if not it could be the print head clog very bad after 2 weeks without maintenance.

@@KingdomDTF Many thanks for your fast reply - when you say flush do you mean do a power ink flush? Which replaces all the old ink with new ink? And could the printhead still be clogged even after the solution ran completely clear after I tried to unclog every single nozzle? I thought it's unclogged because the solution ran clear after I spent many hours unclogging with a syringe...

Hi again, Having tried the power ink flush with the cleaning solution it didn't work. I rang Epson customer service who said I should try it again but that they don't recommend to use the cleaning solution and instead use normal ink. They also said you can't replace the printhead with just any printhead and need one that has the same code and need to find out the software that the specific printhead needs. Any ideas on this?

At least when I talk about matte or glossy is the film is double side or single side. Matte is double side that is fit better on desktop printer when using sheets, still have one side coated. Glossy is one side coated and the back is pure glossy and some printers can not fit easy, but the glossy is better looking for a customer because it shine.

My L1800 always have white ink issue (not printing, too thin) It's like everyday I need to do something just so white ink will print. Is that common to all L1800 printer?

Yes, white ink needs every day to be shake to get mixed well again. I recommend to rotate the inks, just shake before start printing, then pull ink with a syringe and back to tank. That help to mix all.

They are different if compared for the application each one has. DTF can be pressed on many garments vs sublimation just poly.
