Hi, I am using L1800 and PartnerRIP pro even though if the output size is lets say 9" x 9" the printer is printing it at 9"x10.5". How can i fix this. i had a spare printer so i tried to see if its something wrong with the printer but the output is same on the new printer aswell. i tried to do multiple test print but each time i am getting extra 1" - 1.5" Vertical depending on the image size. waiting for your reply

Hi, I really need help. I just converted brand new L1800 to dtf. I fully loaded with inks, and followed your acrorip settings. I made a couple of prints, but I got bad results on black tees. The prints are not vibrant, and after pressing there are little black dots all over. Like a little cracks. What might be the problem? Curing, inks, settings or something else? Thank you!

Once you print the transfer does it have solid white or is it semi transparent? Make sure to print on the right side of the film and cure slowly at a lower temperature to avoid cracking and bubbles.

Same maintenance, separation and clogging problems as DTG just not as bad. You can easily leave your printer to sit idle for a few days without any problems at all.

It is better than DTG when it comes to clogging and white ink separation. However, you still need to shake the ink before printing. If you leave the printer sitting for a few days you will need to do a standard automatic headlean. If you leave it for a week you will need to drop some cleaning solution into the capping station. If you plan on leaving your printer off for a longer time, you will need to flush it. Basically same as DTG just not as bad.

Depends on the powder you use. You can make it hard like plastic, soft like rubber, like vinyl etc.

Is it possible to use household Iron to trasfer instead of heat press machine. Because am planning to sell printed film and most of the customers doesn't own heat press machine.

It's possible but not ideal. Different irons have different settings, shapes and temperatures. They are not flat either. What will you tell your customer when they say: "Your transfer is terrible, I used 3 dots cotton setting on my iron and it did not work at all, what should I do?". You won't be able to tell which temeprature or pressure they've used, or if they heated the transfer evenly.

It's not a dumb question, it's a logical thing to try. The answer is no. DTG ink will collect into small dropplets as if you are spraying fine water myst onto a plastic surface. You can however do the opposite and print with DTF ink like you would with DTG. You will still need pretreatment.

Yes, there are still clogging problems with DTF white ink but not as bad as DTG. Washability is same as DTG.

No, you don't have to but it's very hard not to smudge it and get good results if you don't cure it first.

@@tradecoin2462 200 seconds at 160C or 120 seconds at 170C or even just 20 seconds at 230C. Higher temperature can make the powder boil and also stick to film. So you need to find the right balance.

Gone through some yt vids and someone said in the comment 10 washes and the print will start to fade. The print quality or feel is like vinyl. Full-page print (A4) usually takes 15mins. I forgot the name of the KZbinr who did some tests but that's what I can remember. Hopefully, DTF Printing will clear things up. :)

@@kimcodz8011 Washability and colour will depend on ink, powder and garment. Transfers made with elastic powder feel more like DTG than vinyl. They come out a lot softer and thinner. Washability so far has been better than kodak resolute DTG printing. DTF may fade over time (20 or so washes) but it does not develop typical cracks you might see on old DTG printed shirts. Printing times can be almost halved by printing at 1440 x 720 resolution with minimal visual difference in quality. L1800 costs £700. Epson F2100 costs £13k with expesnive consumables. For £13k you can have an army of DTF machines printing way quicker than F2100, not requiring pretreatment and giving you ultimate redundency.

@@kimcodz8011 Yes, there are different types of powders that have different feel, washability, stretch and longevity. Same with inks. We only stock the products that we've tested ourselves and use for our own DTF printer farm. All prices are available on our website. As far as price range goes, you can buy repackaged out of date white ink that has separated for £10 per liter and you can buy low separation specialised white ink for £200 per liter.

Probably not. It would be tricky figuring out the right temperature, pressure and getting rid of excess melted powder. And then, are you not going to melt the plastic enclosure? So I'm not sure. It's weather and UV resistant on T-shirts but is it going to survive sitting outdoors permanently under sun? I Don't know. I'd like to know myself.

ICC profile is usually designed for a specific ink and printer combination. There are companies that can create a custom ICC profile for you professionally. If I give you my ICC profile it's not going to work, unless you also use our inks. On top of that, acrorip settings will affect your color a lot. Even with correct ICC profile you will still need to print using correct settings.

I want to do heat transfer sheets, i can do my own digitizing so im Curious DTF Using the white powder compared to regular heat transfer paper someone would use for an Epson 7710-7720, I see epson 7720 Print the film then AB paper transfer so does the powder substitute the B sheet? Epson 7720 $300 seems much less expensive. DTF is an awesome concept using RIP but I see no need in PET DTF Powder Process over AB Sheet transfer, Can You shed some light Please thank you very much!

Powder is what allows the ink to stick to the shirt. Without the powder your print will simply wash off. It does replace B sheet in the way.

DTG costs more, has more problems and requires more maintenance. It's not going to look great either unless you buy a proper DTG printer. On top of that, DTG requires you to pretreat your shirts first. Pretreatment can be tricky for beginners and is an artform in itself. You will need to apply an even coat of pretreat so that the ink pops but not so much that you get a pretreat box. Pretreatment machine is highly recommended, which means more things to buy, more maintenance etc.

The texture feels softer but the transfer is like thin rubber. DTG texture is rougher but the end result is softer if that makes any sense. You can order a DTF transfer sample and just press it yourself if you want to compare the two.
