It's actually working😊, but the drawback is that even a slight movement of the film can ruin the print. I personally find it more challenging compared to just opening the printer and removing the roller. Although it can be a bit intimidating for someone like me who isn't tech-savvy, there's no need to worry about any springs popping out or anything tricky. Just make sure to remember where all the screws go. In my case, I left one roller on both sides and cut them so I could feed a 4-inch long film.

Sublimation printers are just regular printers that print with sublimation ink. Sublimation paper absorbs sublimation ink and there is no smudging. So you will still need to carry out the mechanical conversion.

Hello. Thank you for your interest and sorry for a late reply. Acrorip 9 is cheaper than acrorip 10. You only need acrorip 10 for xp-15000. Older printers such as L1800, P400, P600 etc. work with acrorip 9.

It's recommended to empty the ink and wash/flush everything with at least distilled water. Printhead, tanks, lines, dampers. Mixing different ink types is not a good idea.

Is it very glossy on the other side? Some DTF film is just bad and causes constant problems. Try looking up printers not taking transparencies as those are a lot more popular and it's a common problem. Maybe you'll find a good solution. I know some people rub the rubber paper rollers with alcohol. Can't help you much here bud.

Desktop inkjet printers don't dry the ink. It's the paper that absorbs the ink. This is why when you buy cheap thin printer paper and try and print out a photo, it often comes out wet. In our case we want it to come out wet.

You'll be fine. The pushing is done by the wide rubber rollers before the print head. You don't really need those that go after the print head. So you can either keep a few on each side or remove them completely. Either way you'll be able to print A3 and A4.

@@jjsmsalas1 Photoshop won't work. It's not as simple as just printing a design out. You need to apply a white layer on top of your colour, choke the white etc. Rip software such as acrorip tricks your printer into doing something it does not do by default. This printer came from Epson. We are one of the biggest DTF suppliers in the UK.

It will still require the same maintenance as a DTG printer, just not as much and as often. If you plan on leaving it sitting for 3 weeks you will need to flush it with cleaning solution. Inkjet printers in general are not designed to sit around. Even a regular office printer with genuine Epson ink will clog up after a month and will require some sort of maintenance.

Acrorip. If you are not going to use your printer for more than a week you will enter a dangerous territory where you may end up permanently clogging your printhead. Long term storage will require a complete flush and lubrication.

There is some sort of ink flow issue. There is a twist thing on the ink tank. Try turning it. It stops the ink flow for when you need to move the printer. Might also be blockage.

You drain all the ink you can, empty the tanks, wash the tanks, fill the tanks up with distilled water, draw water from the tanks through the dampers using a syringe until it comes out clean. Then extract all the water. Extract the printhead, waterfall it with distilled water until it's clean. Fill up with DTF ink. Draw the ink through the dampers with a syringe until the dampers are full of ink and there are no big air pockets. You should be ready to go.

Hi. Has this kind of "modified" printer difference with the printers made especially for DTF printing? I mean final quality of the print. I'd like to start such kind of business, I have L1800, want to use it as a "low cost trial" before buying the dedicated DTF printer but still doubt if it's a goog idea. Dedicated DTF printers are just professionally converted Epson printers. The print quality depends on the Epson print head. If you convert an L1800 it will have an exact same print quality as a professional DTF printer with an L1800 print head.

Is that really the only two steps needed to convert a brand new L1800 into printing DTF? do you have problems with bent film (from a roll)? like getting stuck in the middle. and can i convert a used L1800? do i have to do anything different? Thanks.

Yes, those are the only steps. No, there are no problems with bent film. We sell flexible film that does not crease or get stuck. Yes, a used printer will need to be cleaned, flushed, old ink removed and printhead cleaned. Be careful, most cheap used inkjet printers come with clogged printheads. Sellers often say stuff like "It worked fine when I used it but it sat for a while and head might need a good clean". In other words, the printhead is dead and they are trying to get rid of it.

@@dtfprintingtechnology9457 thank you for detail answer. And im also wondering, after this modification, will the epson warranty still valid? Since we never got close to the warranty sticker. Most other videos i watched require the removal of all the casing and void the warranty.

@@winrajunus6879 Epson warranty does not cover damage caused by non EOM parts, ink, modifications or software. In theory, if your main board dies, Epson should be able to replace it, however, they will most likely link it to non OEM ink or removed rollers. I have never had any mechanical problems with L1800, only printhead problems, so I never had to make warranty claims. Maybe printer forums will have more answers because people have been modifying L1800s for a long time, years before DTF was even a thing. So there should be plenty of people sharing their Epson warranty experience with modified sublimation printers etc.

There is a little notch on the lid. It goes into the hole. You can just stuff that hole with paper or something. (Left of the power button from what I can remember)
