Nice of them to provide subtitles in Old English in case someone has trouble understanding modern English.

This is fantastic. I would love to see a version with the subtitles in English and the spoken in Old English.

This video is absolutely brilliant. What an achievement! The translation is rather clunky, but you could always redub it. D.G. Scragg's edition is widely accepted to be the best.

Cries out for an acknowledgement of the thanks owed to Wilfrid Berridge MA, without whom the manuscript might have lain undisturbed. As he might well have observed on learning the plight of Brithnoth (as was written in Mr. Berridge's time): "One can only do one's best".

Beautiful epic battle and this artwork. Regards from Argentina. Just a fact...the scription over the grave from the anglosaxon leader was poetic. In old english is impossible to me...but in spanish said: "Y que no temieran" 😎

We must not shed the blood of our brothers anymore. Why are the northern folk in so many lands even now? There is one thing they knew as well as the sword? What? Farmers each and everyone. Even in the south "Agricola" was an ancient & proven name.
