DTK Computer retro pc - showcase and running retro games

My first pc back in 1998 was a Pentium 3 DTK! Been looking everywhere online for used peripherals and towers to recreate it but they are hard to find.

in 98 you did not have a pentium 3 mate! but maybe an awesome p2 :)

No loot boxes, DLC, internet required. Just put the CD in and play. I miss those days. I never did play Test Drive 3, looks like it came out in 1990. Pretty good graphics for the time.

I miss those days too and I try to relive them by playing with these vintage/retro systems. Test Drive 3 is my "obsession" in a good way. The game was ahead of it's time (1990-1991). The cars handling was bad, but the tracks were just awesome! You start from nice weather near a marine bay with boats around, then you drive to the mountains with bad weather like snow, rain, thunders. The cars have changing radios, head lights, windshield wipers (to clean the bugs splashed), there are low-flying airplanes near the tracks, there are cows, horses near the roads. And the cops are chasing you to give you speed tickets.

I really do prefer to run retro games on older hardware.. dont know the emulations or dos box works well but there is something about running 30 year old PCs

@@downundergarage6968 I totally agree wirh you. I tried a few years ago duke3d in emulator dosbox. The felling was not the same like playing on original hardware. Not to mention the problems with the emulator

How do you balance the audio and video to keep viewers engaged?

I am amateur, I dont use a script. I talk passionate about these retro games or hardware. Some times people are engaged/interested, other times are not. And It depends a lot what language are speaking the viewers. Native english speakers may like detailed and long explications, while non english speakers may find boring too much talk. When I edit the videos I cut a lot, al the parts that I find dull.

Can you run Fraps to see what frame rates you are getting. Its light.

@@downundergarage6968 Thanks for the comment, man. Most of the games are running in ms-dos mode. But I will try them in windows 98 with fraps and post here the fps.

@@retroboby007 Great, you will be able to run some in Win98se. I run Delta and Q2 (maybe its win quake, it has been few months since i fired it up)..
