You can tell that he performed this in New Zealand. Because of When he said "deep as bro" and the crowd cheered. Putting "as bro" at the end of a sentence is predominantly a Kiwi thing, His car is "sweet as bro" or Angelina Jolie is "hot as bro"

He's got several albums, has starred in the series Californification, a TV series in his native Australia, wrote the music to Matilda, a hit children's play. Toured with Jesus Christ Superstar group playing Judas Iscariot. For a deeper dive, his Lessons of Life speech to his Alma mater in Australia is good, but immediately after it, the College Chancellor comes up and lists all his accolades, and awards Tim an honorary Doctoate. Heart warming, and his accomplishments will blow you away. Also look for a couple videos with his uncle, and family members. An entirely different side of him, as are his ballads. He's truly married to his high school sweetheart, since he was 17. His "Rock and Roll Nerd" is quite a true autobiography of of his life. Thanks for this, you gave this 67 year old hippie great-grandmother a thrill tonight.

Tim Minchin is awesome - randomly saw him at Brisbane Comedy Festival (Australia) about 15 years ago not knowing who he was or what he did - talk about hitting the jackpot with the show! I remember his opener being a song called "Prejudice" recommend watching too! 😂

Not sure if you know but Tim has written Broadway musicals (he wrote Matilda for example).. The voice he slips into about a third of the way in is actually from Pearl Jam’s “Jeremy”, he also references this toward the end. Fantastic reaction !!!

Actually I have to correct you, he has not written for Broadway musicals. Not screenplays anyway ,he is however the composer and lyricist of both Matilda and Groundhog the musicals for Broadway and the West End. The Matilda musical is being made into a Netflix exclusive movie and will contain many of Tim's songs

As Tim said in this song…Sony records turned him down because they thought Tim wasn’t good enough for the “market”… THEIR MISTAKE!!!!!! Tim now has multiple awards for his music and lyrics for Matilda and Groundhog Day The Musical. Suck eggs Sony Music.. you missed out on millions! One of Australia’s greatest exports ever! If Tim is good enough for Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, he should be good enough for the rest of the world!
