Just subscribed! I have doubts, and maybe a video request, on how to make sentences with indefinite subjects. I've seen "one" being translated to "on" wich made me very confused. As I learned "on" meant "we", "us". Merci!

It means we as you said but also 'we' as in talking about people in general and not about any particular person, which in English can also be translated as 'one'. 'We can see by his expression that he is angry.' 'One can see by his expression that he is angry.'

Tu as dit que "fait que" n'est pas utilisé en Europe mais un autre équivalent qui est souvent donné pour "du coup" est "ce qui fait que" et je l'entends assez souvent.

Great video. :) I was thinking that since Americans have 'oh la la' mistaken for something quite flirty maybe you should do a video about actual flirty expressions in French. :) That would be a fun video.

something that really troubles me in French is the use of re- . I always assume it has the meaning of "back" or "again" as in "refaire". however sometimes it doesn't have this meaning at all: ressentir, remporter le championnat, rencontre ... you don't re-feel it, or re-meet someone (or do you ??). j'ai cherché partout mais malheureusement, j'ai rien trouvé. aide moi svp :(

I'm assuming that you are a native English speaker, as I am. Well in English, it is the same thing. I am at this very moment looking at a button that says "Reply." And this just one example of "re" in English. Seems "re" is very similar in French and English just in different instances, sometimes its a morpheme and sometimes not.

Hi there! So you said that kiffer was just a verb but I have heard the expression kif kif a few times. I think it means "same as". Par exemple, falloir aller et devoir aller sont plutôt kif kif. Have you heard that or am I mixing languages? As for oh là là, I am actually American and we do seem to think that it has something to do with attraction. But your examples of the response to the girl trying on the dress and your friends' response to you receiving a text from Helena are perfect examples of why oh là là has said connotation in the States. I don't think it is sexualized quite enough to have come from porn. videos but I can't say anything for sure là dessus because it is just the impression that I have. Anyway, I love love your videos! They are so much fun! Thanks again Fred!

'C'est kif kif" means "it's almost the same" . You can also hear "c'est kif kif bourricot". "Kif" comes from maghreb "comme" in French, "as as" in english ? I think the verb Kifer or Kiffer is coming from the kif or the kiff, which is a product derived from the canabis. We should ask to a specialist of arab language.

Thanks Freewheelin Franklin! I do have a friend who speaks Arabic, I can ask her and let you know. As for "as as", I have never heard that in US. "Same difference" though is an expression I use a lot to say that two things are very similar.

The Language Geek - Fred Grün ok merci. Une autre question, le mot ‘truc’ je l’utilise comme le mot ‘’stuff’’ donc une fois j’ai dit mes trucs mais le prof a dit qu’on peut pas l’utilise comme ça, ce pas exactement comme ‘stuff’, est-ce que c vrai? Et pourquoi? Merci encore

‘Par contre’ is often heard, but it’s non correct. You should use ‘en revanche’ in proper french.

Could « là-dessus » in your example: « Est-ce que quelqu'un a déjà écrit un livre là-dessus? » be replaced by « dont »? E.g.: « Est-ce que quelqu'un dont a déjà écrit un livre » (I admit to being unsure about where to put the « dont » :D)
