Hi folks, this kit is specifically designed to protect BOTH BATTERIES from being over discharged and potentially damaged. A simple relay setup will actually allow both batteries to be discharged and flattened. Also note that this kit is designed to keep the batteries linked together, after the motor is turned off, to allow the two batteries to be used to power accessories, and this has a number of advantages not found with any other dual battery setup. Our isolator can link batteries together for months, in some cases, even years at a time and we have been doing this type of operation for more that 30 years, and country to FALSE claims, you will not harm either battery by doing this and the way our isolators work, you will actually help to extend the lifespan of both batteries. To get the combined available Ah that this kit provides, using any other setup, you would need to fit at least a 120Ah battery in the rear cargo area. Another major advantage to the way our isolators work it that if the rear battery is flat, you can not join the batteries together until the motor is running, this remove the potential problem a simple relay setup poses, where you are linking a flat or worse still faulty battery to your cranking battery the instant you turn your ignition on. Not good when trying to start the motor, particularly if the cranking battery is already in a low or unhealthy state. One more advantage with the way our kit works, is when you have used a fair bit of power while camping or what ever, the isolator’s operation causes the L322 alternator to run at a higher voltage for a longer time, thus charging BOTH batteries quickly. With any other setup, because the cranking battery can be in a near fully charge state when you start the motor, this means the L322 alternator will only run at a higher voltage for a very short time, if at all, and this means if the rear battery is low, you will need to drive for many, MANY hours to try to get some charge back into the rear battery. Because our isolators are controlled by a micro processor, they are capable of performing many unique tasks not available in any other dual battery setup.

Hello, I have a question regarding this. I'm planning on installing a second battery on my l322, I have a not so great primary battery which doesn't charge fully and appears to lose its charge quite quickly, will this system use the secondary battery's charge to crank the vehicle in series with the primary? Edit : Can I use something cheaper than a Deep Cycle Battery?

@@whiners131 Hi and yes, one of the primary advantages that our isolators provide, is to allow the auxiliary battery to continuously back discharge into the cranking battery when the motor is turned off. This dramatically reduces the effects of the different current dischargers L322 Range Rovers suffer from. No other system does this and this feature helps greatly in extending the operating life of the cranking battery. One of the main dischargers on the L322 cranking battery is the continual heavy current discharge caused by the on-board computers while they shut down, operating after the motor has stopped and the ignition is turned off. With our isolators, this current load is shared over both batteries, meaning the cranking battery is never left as low as it would be with any other dual battery system or with no system at all. Regards, Tim

Hey Tim im running one of your usi 160 systems in my 110 alongside your 5ch welltempered unit. Now that i have a l322 im looking to install a second battery not so much to run extra accessories but to help the main battery from running "low" in turn setting of "false" codes in the l322 system. Would this unit work for this purpose? I also have another 5ch welltempered unit of yours that i was going to install in another vehicle but never got around to it. Do you think it would be useful to install it into the l322?
@drivesafer63354 жыл бұрын
Hi LROR, fitting one of my L322 Dual battery kits will help to keep your cranking battery in a higher state of charge and in a better condition. This means you can leave L322 for longer periods between drives, but you still need to make sure you regularly give your L322 a good drive. Continual short drives are still a problem, but because of the way my dual battery kit works in an L322, where it is charging two batteries at the same time, my kit also helps in these situations as well because your are replacing twice as much used battery capacity compered to what a standard L322 can do. NOTE the kit does not remove the problems of short drives, it just reduces the effects. Not sure what a “ 5ch welltempered unit” is?

Hi. Am I right in thinking the installation of a second battery using this kit won't help start the car if the main cranking battery is too low? I am looking for a setup to allow a fridge and various accessories to be running when the engine is switched off without the possibility of draining it too far and being stranded. this looks to be the ideal solution

Hi Ben and my setup actually keeps the cranking battery in a higher state of charge, and this also conditions the cranking battery, while running around town. So when you do go on a trip, both your cranking battery and auxiliary battery are going to give your accessories a much longer run time. But the DT90 is set to disconnect your cranking while it still has plenty of starting capacity. So yes this kit will easily meet your needs. NOTE, with more than 5,000 Land Rover fitted with my kits, there is plenty of feedback showing that my isolator actually help extend the operating life of your cranking battery.

can I use the same size battery that is under the hood .or the same as you installed?

Hi Ruban, the Optima D34 Yellowtop is about the largest battery you can fit, without having to cut into the L322’s paneling. The height clearance is the limitation.

I have a parasitic draw - battery dies in like a day - I can’t find where it’s coming from. If I install this in my Range Rover will it stop it? Also, when my main battery gets too low, would this kick in and shut it off?

@@showrunner2183 Hi again and I still recommend starting with rejuvenating your battery and then see how things go. One of my kits would improve your setup but with the small amount of driving you are doing, you need to look after your cranking battery first.
