I had a friend make me some custom 12 degree Titanium handlebars (both 30mm and 60mm rise, 31.8mm of course)), which are noticeably softer than carbon or aluminum for damping trail chatter. They are fantastic! I still cannot believe that people are killing themselves with sub 10 degree sweep bars with a 35mm rock hard center.

Awesome stuff! I'm also on some 16° SQLabs handlebars. We need more handlebar options that aren't just straight pipes. I actually put moto bars on my MTB at one point because it's all I had with comfortable geometry (they were also over 800g which probably just gave you a heart attack lol).

Great video, really enjoyed it. Quick question, have you heard of or found the cause/solution to rear break resonance that tends to show up on Banshees? I ride a rune v3.2 that I've yet to fully snuff the issue on. Shop owner is dealing with the same on his Titan, have heard others as well. Closest we've came is purchasing a slightly shorter rear axel to fully synch the rear. It has helped, but the resonance still creeps back every couple rides. Love the bike, but this problem is maddening.. Thoughts?

Here i am! i asked you yesterday and today about seatpost lenght and here we are today with a video explaining it... Detailed as ever, i appreciate you considerations but I still believe that for most bikers, in particular beginners and not so confident riders, having a shorter seat tube with a longer seatpost is a plus in technical slow trial-like trails (putting one foot down in order to try not to die is not a shame😅). I understand you speak on the base of pure race performance/chronometer seeking, but for people that use bike to enjoy freetime I think having short seat tube is still a plus. Good job as ever by the way!

Thank you for the great content. Do you recommend a minimum CS to WB ratio? For example, your Prime build is 460/1302, giving a ratio of .353. Or do you think there is a more significant data point for deciding if a CS is long enough?
@RULEZMANSUSPENSION10 ай бұрын
numbers are for freaks. Just get the longest you can which would be probably still too short since 98% of frame makers do short CS. banshee XL with 460 CS is very good, but I would love to have 1-2 cm more.

Nice Dave, you really made a good effort in explaining your views and opinions. I am currently looking for a frame for 13 years old son. He is competing in enduro races and like to spend time in bike parks roosting and jumping with his friends. At 156cm and 44kg a new bike wont suit him for many years, and the his riding skills starts to deserve good quality components. I assume you haven´t ridden the Rune from Banshee, but I belive it is quite similar to the titan in kinematics and quality, just with a slightly more freeride fokus. Looking at Banshees in size M and Nicolai G1 in S the reach of 455 - 470 is one thing, but the long chain stays, which is good for adults might be a bit draggy consider how low the center of gravity would be on a small rider. do you have any thoughts of bike sizing for young riders? Pole are going to make the Onni with adjustable reach -5, 0, +10 mm, maybe thats one of the most klever things to choose for some in the peak growth period. ?? Installing your V3 handelbar clamp certainly opens the possibility to choose a longer frame, but swapping to longer stems as he grows really solve anything in a right way ;)
