In my opinion, the recent heat changes made HPPC viable! Been running a similar build on my GHR-5H with 2xHPPC, 5xML and a LE-300. I thoroughly enjoy it, as it's a different play style than a lot of my other mechs.

Dual HPPC is my favorite build currently on the BLR-1G. The high mounts, PPC velocity (+20% which you can increase with skills to around +35%), ML heat gen (which last time I checked applied to the ERML as well) and range quirks are very helpful. And it can be done on the 1G's stock engine, though putting in an LFE 350 allows it to mount one extra DHS, a TC II (or AMS + ammo depending on preference) and maximum armor for shield arms. mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab#i=118&l=2acff02b61c6b851b630f2913e54ce3524d15906

Have you ever built a mech with the max heat management and scale the weapons up just enough where they can't over heat and you can continuously blast away at things? Get that max at the sacrificial of everything else, then build with whats left over. Just for the heck of it.

Wait, so I must have misunderstood. As far as I know, all the PPC weapons (clan or IS) do only 2/3 pinpoint damage and the rest is spread. Why not HPPC? Or did something change? Or I remember this whole thing wrong.

Only the clan ERPPC does splash (5) on top of pinpoint (10). The IS PPC and ERPPC do 10 pinpoint and the HPPC does 15 pinpoint.

I'm not a Battletech lore hardcore guy, but trying to balance between (MWO) gameplay and lore is my guess. The C-ERPPC did 15 damage on TT for 6 tons, 2 crits and no minimum range - pretty much one of the most OP weapons short of the HAG. The IS PPC and ERPPC did 10 damage in TT (with the PPC having a minimum range). The HPPC did 15 damage for 10 tons, 4 crits and also had a minimum range (which also means you carry less DHS when using the HPPC on lighter mechs).

Hi Baradul, Nice video! I almost got the same build but with 17 double heatsinks. With the idea in mind of packing the two heavy PPC as near as possible I put them on the same torso, and that frees enough space on the other torso to place 3 double heatsink. However you will have to remove one of the ER small lasers :-(

Yes that was wasted coolshot. When you are in cover or close to cover just take your time and keep the coolshot for the push.

Gotta say that i enjoy a lot my 2xHPPC shadowhawk It's not that sturdy (XLE =/) and has weaker backup weapon (running RL20 now) and a bit hot , but it's a lot of fun.
