Dual Lye Hot Process Shave Soap- First Time Ever!

Let’s make Lovin Soaps Hot Process Shave Soap! I have NEVER made Hot Process soap much less a dual lye recipe but, what the heck! Let’s learn together!
Some things I did differently from the recipe...
-Used lard instead of tallow
-Heated the oils, butters, stearic acid, and castor oils in the crock pot
-Added a TBS of sugar to the lye water
- Used fragrance oil instead of Essential oil
- Added mica to color
- Added glycerine last with the fragrance to make soap more fluid
Things I would do differently...
- Not stick blend as long after the consistency began to change into the taffy stage
- add mica to the oils in the crock after everything melted

4oz shea butter
8oz coconut oil
5oz tallow
4oz castor oil
4.35oz glycerin
2.06oz sodium hydroxide
3.1oz potassium hydroxide
2oz sodium lactate
25.8oz distilled water
1oz lime essential oil
.5oz cypress essential oil
.5oz patchouli essential oil

As a wet shaver i would not use any soap with mica or clay as it could dull or ruin the edge of my straight razor. what i look for is a great creamy lather and a fantastic scent ! i do not want color in my soap that may stain my $ 200 badger hair shaving brush!! just my 2 cents about soap if you are making it to sell to men. i liked the video and may try it myself..

The soap was ruined by adding a mica-based colorant to it. ALL shaving soaps should be left in their natural color... do you see any colored shaving soaps on the market? NOPE!
