Dual-Stage Airbag Theory of Operation:
Dual-stage airbags have two separate chambers for, either, compressed gas, or solid propellant. They are generally ignited separately, with a time delay,
but can detonate simultaneously, depending on variables such as velocity, time, and forces. That is how they are capable of producing different pressures for each stage in order to minimize injury while providing protection to the vehicle's occupants.
