Good job again! I've got that xbox one controller and have worked on it all night. I soldered my first 50k pot to get it centered and i've pretty much done it but Tomorrow I'm going to do the pot again because It was a little crooked soldered xD but I'm not as used to soldering really small wires so this is great practise :)

Tip use the flat blade screw 🪛 driver to rotate & manipulate the trim pot into position at its centre rotation point, I find that works better than any tweezers or pliers for these little buggers. Small wires are a chore but on the twin pot method I U the wire around the centre post & push it down with the solder tip. The single trim pot method I start on an outer pin & U it around the back of the trim pot to the other side solder the extreme ends first then raise the middle loop of the wire up to solder the trim pot 2 terminals snip the middle bridge piece out 👍🏼. Then if it needs a different resistance part I just desolder the ends and leave the wires attached to the trim pot for another pad 🎮 🤷🏼‍♂️ lol. It's an arse to switch between the single or double pot method for best results 🫣🫠🤤 👍🏼.

@@GOATGamerProSticks I have a Philips 001 bit and it has broken somehow and now it just fits perfectly into the pots xD. I didn't use the multimeter other than continuïty and my sticks were the black self locking Alps. I bought a bunch and they are the only one that I got that are genuine Alps but I think they are for Xbox One because the ps4 ones that I got from alps dont have self locking. Its a nice feature because you can kind of lock it and see how much overreach you have together with game pad tester oc. I'm going to look for more maybe different Controllers right away I'm very excited for this repair :D Again thanks for all the info it really helped me out.

@@HD-wf3bp Oh I think 🤔💭🧐 I've just spotted why that is, the Xbox elite series 2 stick sides I didn't use in my DS4 mod have 70 stamped on them & an old DS4 set have 60 it seems to be the angle demarcation, because the DS4 has short sticks it tilts further than the long stick X box design potentiometers, they may have even set the track & wiper resistance material lengths, but that's way over my head for solid understanding, I'm still a menace for digging up industrial secrets backwards 😁 lol. Yep it's rated tilt angle that explains why Xbox pad 🎮 reported digital positions are finer with less angle to work in but longer sticks 🤗.

@@GOATGamerProSticks aha! When I was putting in the new black Alps stick it wouldn't really fit inside. So what I did was cut away the 2 points of plastic on the underside of the stick. Maybe you can manually change the position a little bit by cutting a little of that plastic. I noticed that these dots on the underside are of a different lay out with different sticks. Some have 2 dots of plastic some have 4 and some have none (just a circle with a flat underside) It's interesting all the different things there are to find and like you say these little things can make a difference or give us that little bit of understanding that we need. Keep up the good work! :D

You do realise the old gen PS3, Xbox 360 pots are mechanically bigger right 🧐🔮 I'm confused to what you 🫵🏼 have managed to squeeze 🫸🏼🕹️🫷🏼🙏🏼 into your pad 🎮 🥹 😬🤐🤔🤫🫢🤭 🥴🤨???
