• Why GH3 instead of Clone Hero?
Clone Hero gamepad mode is a bit messy, mainly the forced notes. To have a consistent fast strum is nearly impossible. Additionaly, there's an issue with the double/triple chords: if you hold down one color and press the other(s), then you'll hit the chord. And finally the master shit: in the CH button mapping is something possible. That being said, we can map the right analog stick as a strum bar!! But that is not even close to be fair. "Well, why not?" Because there's nothing like that, in none of the official GHs.
• How do you fast strum?
GH3 engine is a bless: right notes (red, yellow, blue and orange) can be strummed using the notes from their left. So we can strum red using the green; yellow using the green and red; blue using green, red and yellow; orange using green, red, yellow and blue. There’s no trick for green notes, so it’s basically alt tapping using both hands. That being said, the impossible is now possible. It’s just a matter of practice and speed.

Oof! I've been gone through something similar when I started to play. I bought a guitar controller just to pass this song and unlock the rest of the career. Months later I found this DualShock feature on KZbin, and realized it was actually a very popular feature ever since the game launched.

It always has been. As the FAQ in the video description, right notes (red, yellow, blue and orange) can be strummed using the notes from their left. So we can strum red using the green; yellow using the green and red; blue using green, red and yellow; orange using green, red, yellow and blue. There’s no trick for green notes, so it’s basically alt tapping using both hands. Remembering that this literally works like the guitar strum bar, so you cannot spam ramdomly, or you will choke.
