40 years later, Bruce Dickinson the lead singer stills sings like that, AFTER beating throat cancer. And they are still touring. UP THE IRONS !

He's still amazing to this day. But it's a stretch to say he still sings like he does in this clip. He definitely doesn't, and nobody his age could.

I was 12 years old in 1982. I had long hair, drainpipe jeans and was wearing Iron Maiden T-shirts then and this song blew me away. The album was just as amazing too. I'm in my mid fifties now, lost me hair and my body is bent and broken and in poor health. But, it is what it is. What I really do enjoy watching is seeing people like yourself, clearly a lot younger than myself, enjoy the music that I grew up on and loved. Good luck with your channel and take care.

The World Piece tour in '83 was the first time I saw them live! I was 14,, lol. Up the Irons.

This was my era! 1988 first band I ever saw live. It was amazing! I was 15, just into metal, but really into my breakdancing and old school rap. The Afrikaa Bambataa/Public Enemy times, so I totaly get you saying it reminds you of rap. Being into both 36 years ago, seeing the legends emerge from both genres was the best. So glad you've enjoyed this!

They are one of the true classic Heavy Metal bands still touring and still sound excellent. They are touring now and may be there last . You should look if they are playing near you . Don't miss the chance to see Iron Maiden live
@kardeef333174 күн бұрын
This was the last tour they have ever opened for anyone. The band was started in 1975 by the bassist and primary song writer and leader of the band. The singer almost made the Olympics in fencing, he also later got a commercial pilots licenses. Flew their own 747 around the world with the band and equipment. Even landed in Syria to save refugees. They still fill 180k seat statiums.

Great reaction!!! Despite no radio air time or very limited, Iron Maiden has sold over 130 million albums and over 200 million units, including DVDs, games, etc. Maiden is best experienced during live shows. Anything from their first seven albums are excellent. Lots of great songs after that are too. One of my favorites is Paschendale live. Enjoy and Up the Irons!!

Welcome. One thing to keep in mind about Maiden: They are one of the most influential bands of all time, and that list contains a lot of performers who are not in the rock genre. Lady Gaga self-identifies as the biggest Maiden fan on the planet. Miley Cyrus, Keith Urban, Josh Groban, and a bunch of others are big fans. Gives you an indication of why Maiden's songs and songwriting hit people differently than more straightforward rock stuff coming from AC/DC and similar acts.

Greetings and Love from Köln/Cologne, Germany. Great reaction, buddy. And thanx for Maiden. I'm a MaidenManiac since 1985 and would love to see you reacting to more of Maiden. For my taste, Maiden is more a live band. Great studio work, no doubt. But live they are untouchable. Even at ages of 59-63. L My fav songs are "When The Wild Wind Blows", "Revalations", "Hell on Earth", "The Talisman", Alexander The Great". Well, there you go, you've got a new subcriber..Stay safe, .UP THE IRONS & have a peaceful day

Hey man, cool that you like the arguably most legendary heavy metal band of them all (OK, Black Sabbath are even more legendary, I’ll admit it), and rest assured, if you liked this classic track, you will like the rest too. Iron Maiden from London, England, formed and led by genius songwriter and bassist extraordinaire Steve Harris, are still going strong and even more popular than ever, because during their long career, they have never once compromised their sound or jumped on any bandwagon, and fans respect that. The fact that they even in their old age remain a remarkable live act obviously doesn’t hurt either. But you know, as a rapper, would it interest you to know that there are some really cool bands out there using rap in a metal context? My personal favorites are arguably Body Count, the band where a certain Ice-T gets to live out his love for the likes of Black Sabbath, Slayer and Motörhead while still remaining every bit the social commentary rapper we all know and love. Suicidal Tendencies is another legendary example. Then there are some individual experimental, but still very cool tracks like Anthrax’ ”Bring the noise” and Faith No More’s ”Epic”. But arguably the great pioneer of rap-like vocals and storytelling from way back in the classic (hard) rock days, would be Thin Lizzy with the inimitable black, Irish street poet Phil Lynott on vocals (and bass). You Americans know them for this one hit song, ”The boys are back in town”, but here in Europe, they’re one of THE most influential hard rock bands ever, and I’m sure you’d realise why if you lent them your ears. A nice, cool deep cut like ”Johnny the Fox meets Jimmy the Weed” would be right up a rapper’s alley, I think.

They are an incredible band. Their first 7 albums are perfection. Honestly man. They energize me like no other. You're gonna get the usual reactions like fear of the dark live etc, which is great of course, but man there's so much to choose from. Phantom of the opera, killers, the prisoner, 22 acacia avenue, children of the damned, aces high, the trooper, rime of the ancient mariner, the evil that men do, run to the hills, number of the beast, caught somewhere in time, purgatory, 2 minutes to midnight, Alexander the great, infinite dreams, where eagles dare, strange world, seventh son of a seventh son, wasted years, powerslave, revelations,......I could go on. My point is, they are brilliant

Black Sabbath loves you and I am here to harvest your soul for them. It's just a hobby. Try War Pigs, an anti war song from 1970, as relevant today as it was then. It has a surprising amount of deep bluesy funk to it. They are part of what is known as the "Unholy Trinity" of Rock. Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple. 3 British bands that laid the ground work for the rest back in the late 60's and early 70's.
