The irony is, during his social media fame, he tried to keep preaching about how hard work ultimately pays off, and yet he never posted one picture of himself, doing any actual work. When the authorities became hot on his trail, he claimed to be a "Real Estate Developer" even though he never once showed any condo, mall, golf course that he is "Developing". That alone would give him away. Unfortunately, even when the law was catching up on him he could not stop showing off on instagram. If he was earning his Billions legitimately, he would not be living like this. His days will be filled with meetings, reviewing of contracts, visiting sites where projects are being developed. In fact, he would not even have time for this nonsense. That is what we need to understand about Billionaires. Not only is it hard to earn them legitimately, its a lot harder to maintain them. They secure investments and loans for the project they are developing. But when those are not paid on time, they will lose assets. Criminals like this do not exactly answer to creditors or to investors. So they can just keep splurging money as long as they keep their criminal operation active. Unfortunately the law catches up at some point

The region has laws where until a person pays their debts they can't leave the country. Guessing they aren't going anywhere for the rest of their lives since their bills were paid by illegally gained money and that's all gone now.

@@afrofeast That’s a stupid assertion. First of all, they unlawfully detained him. He was in Dubai, US officials had no authority to seize him and extradite him to the states. I have no clue how they managed to get away with that. If I was in his shoes, I would’ve taken my chances overseas as well, probably not in Dubai though. If you stayed in your home town, you would’ve gotten caught long before he did.

"... godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows". 1Timothy 6:6b - 10
