1750 separate passengers? OK if it takes an average of 5 seconds to board each passenger (unrealistically optimistic) then it would require 8750 seconds complete boarding. That means it would take over 2 1/2 hours of boarding before it made its first free revolution. I can see that being very popular.

It's a rolling entrance / exit similar to how some roller coasters work now. The wheel (in normal operation) never stops, you just board or exit while the platform keeps pace nearby. Glad that they at least shut it down to ensure it's fixed properly.

Can you re edit this video and provide more information about where the steel for the ferris wheel was made, who were the architects, their companies and past history, the foreign workers who built this behemoth, what bus# they took to site or if they got shuttled from the barracks? What was in the breakfast menu? Dubai land title office location? Parking situation? Any reliable urgent care clinics? And KFC close by etc? I was just thinking why answer the question of this video so quickly in 10 minutes? When you can pump in more pertinent info?

It is common sense that due to the size and weight, when it is operating and spinning, it shakes and is becoming unsafe. That is why they are just saying they are performing maintenance and other upgrades, but not testing it.

If it was too heavy for the ground they would have started deconstructing it. They would not risk such a prime spot of dubai to be damaged especially when its reputation is at stake. Its most likely the last point you said, those early warning since of vibration and random loud noises is most likely the reason.

Erm.....its running actually and has been throughout September when I was there. It's due to reopen so I'm afraid your wrong. I rode it the year it opened and it's great.

In engineering there is a saying what looks right probably is right. It's all in the spokes. They don't look right for it's size. Considering it will be subject to winds up 25 knots daily and theses winds are perpindicular to the main axis of the wheel. As this is a so called civil engineering site, then it shouldn't be hard to work out what the problem is. Now throw in contractual issues over contractual design and performance liabilities and you have the answer.
