Roscommon dragged Derry into a dogfight, which got out of control in the closing stages, but Cork never seemed in control of matters against Meath.
In Division 1 Pat saw glimpses of the Dublin of old, but Tyrone's season has yet to spark and relegation is a real possibility. Monaghan impressed against a poor Donegal and Armagh's win against Kildare gave Niall reason to smile.

I recall meeting Pat Spillane one winters night at his then pub in Templnoe. A few of us down from Tipp were playing golf for a couple of days in the area. I can honestly say that Pat is exactly the same as you see him on tv . What a great guy , an entertainer and a gent. We left his bar very late or rather early the next day !!!!

Pat Spillane is great craic, a traditional Irish man with no back doors. One of the few men in Ireland with more All Ireland medals than Holy medals. Respect.

Shane Mcguigan would have knocked that free over in his sleep, really? ignoring the fact that he missed 3 easier frees in that match and prior to that incident a free in (tap over free) should have been given to Roscommon. Why no mention of the red card for Niall Daly,Black for Cian McKeon both dodgy decisions and the ref not given the advantage to Cathal Heneghan who was clean through for goal, a number of calls by officials that went Derrys way.

Rory O Neill should have highlighted the Cork injuries more than he did. There's at least ten senior player out injured and he should have named them. But in Cork, nobody gives a sh one T about football.
