Dublin Ireland history and cartography is explored and examined from this vintage map that was originally produced in 1836. In the video we zoom in and look at various historical and geographical aspects that make this map so great.
Also in the video we give some background history into the founding, name entomology of the city and also give a timeline of the development of Dublin as well. In the video we also discuss the various historical aspects of viking influence on the city of Dublin and Ireland as a whole.

OMG. I knew the pronunciations because I lived there many years ago, but even if I hadn't, I would have guessed them with much more accuracy than this guy did. Still, I give him points for investigating and making a video. Dublin's a great city (not quite as good as Cork, but nonetheless great) and its nice to see someone discovering some of its greatness.

It's Dubh-Linn, dark pool. The river under the city is called the Poddle and is still there but closed to the public.

Purely on the basis that you want to make another video on the history of the buildings. The river is pronounced Liff-y as in spliff not life-y as in life. The jail is Kill-main-am.
