How about *ALL The Scriptures* ?: Grace And Peace. appreciate your love for *The LORD JESUS CHRIST!* Praying humbly for *ONE "fellowship" Concern!* So, Just *ONE Important* question: *Does God "Require* water" baptism, Today, *Under HIS GRACE!* ? After my THREE "water" baptismS (ALL in "error"), my personal *(GRACE!)* "view" of The *Truth About: ALL Of God's "BaptismS!"* what think ye? Dear Pilgrims - Do you know The Way? The Way is the First Commandment of the New Testament! The First Commandment of the New Testament is to “Repent” and willingly submit to “Baptism” (The Way) Acts 2: 38. The Apostle Peter gave The Way Commandment at the first meeting of New Testament Believers on The Day of Pentecost 33 AD. This First Commandment is found in Acts 2: 38 where Peter, inspired by the Holy Spirit of God answers the peoples’ question in verse 37 of “What must we do” to be saved? Acts 2: 38 - “Peter said to them, Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” Note - Peter is speaking in the Greek Imperative mode. The Greek Imperative mode defined is: “A command of instruction given to the hearer, charging the hearer to carry out or perform a certain action.” The Greek Imperative mode HERE is not a suggestion … It is a Command by God … It is The First New Testament Commandment given to Believers on The Day of Pentecost 33 AD! First, Peter Commands the people to “Repent” (Greek - to change one’s mind or purpose). Note - sincere repenting is implied! Then Peter Commands each to be “Baptized” (Greek - to immerse literally "dip under" implying submersion). Note - All Baptisms in the New Testament are full immersion, adult Baptisms! Peter says ALL Believers are to be “Baptized in the name of Jesus Christ” (by/in the authority of the anointed Messiah’s name). As a result of the Believer’s Repentance and submission to Baptism, the Scripture then says that the Believer will have his sins forgiven (i.e. all sins up until that moment are forgiven). Note - any new sins made by the Believer will be forgiven, when the Believer personally confesses those sins to God. (1 John 1: 19). Acts 2: 38 then says that upon Repentance and Baptism, the Believer “will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” Note - The Holy Spirit is a GIFT from God; we did nothing to earn the gift, Jesus was the one who suffered and died for our sins. Scripture says that The Holy Spirit will then abide in our heart with our personal spirit to instruct, to guide and to protect each Believer onto “all truth.” (John 16: 13; 1 Timothy 2: 4). Further, Acts 2: 39 indicates that God’s Command of Baptism is both universal and everlasting. Verse 39 says, “For the promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call to Himself.” In Acts 2: 40, 41, 47 Peter says that Baptism is The Way to be saved from the perverse world and that those that were Baptized “were added” to those being SAVED (i.e. Baptism is the ONLY SCRIPTURAL WAY to Salvation)! Acts 2: 40, 41, 47 says: “And with many other words he solemnly testified and kept on exhorting them, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation!” 41So then, those who had received his word were Baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand souls… 47 AND THE LORD WAS ADDING TO THEIR NUMBER DAY BY DAY THOSE WHO WERE BEING SAVED!” Pilgrim - The First Commandment of The New Testament tells us THE WAY to enter the Kingdom through Repentance and Baptism by the obtaining of The Holy Spirit of God. Therefore Baptism is Scripturally the: HOW, WHEN and WHERE (The Way) we receive The Holy Spirit of God and enter The Kingdom of God. Further, all Scripture indicates that unless we have the Holy Spirit we are not saved. (John 14: 26; Ephesians 1: 3; Titus 3: 5; Hebrews 6: 4). SUMMATION - Pilgrim, Scripture says that “God is not the author of chaos or confusion” for God tells us exactly HOW, WHEN and WHERE (The Way) to obtain Salvation by willingly and sincerely Repenting and submitting to adult full immersion Baptism.
