DUBROVNIK and its ABANDONED HOTEL

European Motorhome Tour day 21- 23 of 45 takes us to Dubrovnik where we walk the city walls and take the cable car to the Panorama Restaurant, Wow the views from here over Dubrovnik are Off The Scale!! The following day we explore an abandoned hotel just 30 minutes walk from Dubrovnik Old Town, this definitely put nerves on edge!
We stay at Camping Pod Maslinom which is situated about 25 minutes bus ride from Dubrovnik, there are one or two other campsites slightly closer but we liked this one for the location to the sea (steep walk down) and it deservedly had good reviews.

Great video. We stayed in Soline in 2014 and from our apartment balcony we could see a large hotel complex during the day, but we were puzzled that it was not illuminated at night. So we wandered along the coast and discovered Kupari beach. We did a bit of urbex in one of the hotels (I think there are at least 3) and then had the best squid and chips I have ever at Caffe Bar Kupari. Such a surreal location to find oneself in. I'm glad it is still in a state of disrepair and hasn't been redeveloped.

Happy Anniversary to you both! We did a wander through the Berengaria hotel in Prodromos, Cyprus. A bit the same, falling apart and very spooky. The bizarre thing there was there were fish in the swimming pool amongst the debris! That restaurant is a must for us when we do the trip, love views like that. Thanks for the great video again 🥰🥰

Be sure to book the restaurant way in advance to get an evening table on the front to watch the sun go down. Love Dubrovnik and we did a bike trip with a tour company who showed us some of the small towns impacted during the Balkans War and then visited a lovely vineyard, beautiful country 👍

Happy anniversary, in 1995 myself and some fellow soldiers drove from Split to dubrovnik in a UN land rover(op grapple 6) we went to one of the hotels that was near the frontline, it was such a beautiful place I must go back. Thank you

Congratulations on 5 years and that view! That hotel was shelled by Serbian Forces during the war for independence while refugees were sheltering there. Incidentally there is another abandoned Hotel Belvedere on the Furka pass in Switzerland which featured in Goldfinger

Hi Dave and Katya, we've seen a few tent boxes on our travels. The flexibility to go anywhere is very appealing😀 The day bags we use are berghaus free flow, we choose them because of the panel in the back to keep them off our backs, they still get hot but no where near as much as what they would do without. We've had them 10 years now and still going strong but will probably look to replace soon. Happy Adventures...Andy&Michelle

Dubrovnik looks so much smaller than Split? Is it more compact or similar in size?
