So very cool. Thanks for the tour. My family was Ashkenazi Jews in Sub Carpathian, Ukraine (formerly before 1919 Austria-Hungarian Empire) They all left before the slaughter of most Jews in that area. The Balkans fascinate me so. I plan to visit in 2024! I loved your Albanian tour as well. I hope to make Albania my home base at some point.

I'm pleased that you enjoyed the videos. There are many more available. You may wish to visit our website videoparables.org which lists many more videos than the KZbin channel. All the videos on the website are linked to KZbin, so you can watch them directly from our website. God bless.

My family migrated in 19th century from western Ukraine to a small town in Backa part of the Monarchy. During ww2 majority of Jews in town were taken to camps by the germans. Some survived The War... and in 1956! Communist government confiscated their/our property, executed some, and deported the rest. 294 families perished.

The orthodox countrys had been conquered for 600 years by the turks. And the turks stoped where croatia started. So tell how have they been more successful in the battle.

Good question. I would assume that the Venetian navy, which was powerful between the 15th and 18th Centuries, created enough problems to keep the Turks in check.

@@videoparables its much deeper than just that. It is true venice and its trading ways helped slow down the turks. But it was the Kaisers idea to put a military front in croatia. Antemurale christianitanis was our title as the defender of europe.

@@videoparables Dubrovnik (Latin - Ragusa) did not just became Croatian territory recently...it was always Croatian - "Last port in Croatian kingdom" wrote famous Arab geographer and traveller in 11th century, just like English and German sources did throughout middle ages. Dubrovnik gave the Ottomans city of Neum just to create a buffer towards Venetians... why? start with wiki article "Siege of Zara" to see what kind of "republic" they were. I'm sorry but i stopped watching after "religious division played role in future conflict". "Conflict" had nothing to do with religion, or some other excuse...certain eastern land-locked country just wanted to have sea access, simple as that.

@@fiditenemini2452 Well that sounds like a more likely military motive, but the video is still good.

Itś their love for their fellow humans that distinguished the true Christian Church. ¨Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength, and love your neighbor as yourself.¨ Jesus Christ ✝

Orthodox Christian, eastern orthodoxy, Catholicism Islam! I believe the Albanians are very flexible people with the most amazing language and unique identity. I applaud them for all they endured ;everything they’ve been through. I hope to see them continue to thrive and grow as a new country for freedom loving people. Prayers for peace, everywhere.
