Dubstep Wobble Bass in Logic ES2 - LFO Explained

LFO is the foundation of the classic wobble bass which is very popular with producers of tear-out dubstep (or brostep as it has become known in certain circles!). important fact is that the biggest dubstep producers actually use fewer and fewer speed shifting lfo based wobble synths.

@MuzikAuto you're statement is as true as it is untrue in all genres of music (except of classical, where everyone's teached to produce one mainstream sound out of an instrument IMHO) the tone of an instrument is as important as the score themselves who can't play some jimmy hendrix guitar some miles david trumpet-melodies some lyrics by Michael Jackson it's the tone - the technical part of it - that gives the personal character and soul think about it

@Tsvetanof Hi there. Every DAW has it's positive and negative points. In our experience there are still a few minor glitches in Logic 9, however there are ways round them and the positive aspects far outweigh the negative. Along with Ableton, our Logic courses are by far the most popular with students. At the end of the day, great music can be made on any modern DAW... we recommend you pick one, practice, practice and truly master it as you would if you were learning the guitar or piano.

@troubl3gum - it's true and that's why we don't just focus on 'wobble' stuff on the course. There is plenty of diversity and contemporary flavour across the four week duration. The main thread of the course is for people to experience a wide variety of techniques and then be in a strong position to create their own spin on the sound.

dunno.. GREAT, GREAT tutorial, but i think i take issue with the guy saying that the wobble bass is "cliche" in dubstep. it's not cliche; it's an element... that would be like calling the electric guitar cliche in rock music. I'm being picky, but it just had to be said. anyway, with that said, i'm a BIG FAN of your tutorials. GREAT explanations that go way deeper than everyone else's. THANKS!!!!

I'm kind of new to logic but how do you open the channel eq and es2 synthesizer at the same time? everytime I try it either one of them will shut itself down :(

Fantastic video. Really helped. Going to keep watching your videos. My only problem, is that whenever i hit a key on my midi controller, my wobble is off tempo. It skips a beat then sort of stays on beat but not really. Any ideas? Thanks again for the awesome video!
