I don't think people even realize how revolutionary this era of dubstep was. People at this time just thought it was just random noise, people today think this is easy to make. But go back to when this was made, these sounds were never before heard and creating them, putting them together, it required such careful curating from such limited software at the time. It might sound silly now but genuinely I believe early electronic music like this will be remembered like Beethoven.

I can see what you're getting at but my opinion on it is that at first he was messing around get some basic's done then sorta focused on the exact style he wanted. but other than that it happens to every artist whether they go mainstream or not they always have their classic songs and sometimes never come close to it for some reason sometimes its a sort of producers block to them.

That said, I agree, I find artists often find a track structure that they never deviate from, leading their tracks to be predictable.

Wrong,, Havoc was just a test and so was Gecko, he mixed the two together and changed the sounds very slightly and then you get retreat. Geck & Havoc were just unfinished versions of retreat, they were never supposed to be released (or leaked)
