I think its less that they're trying to sound like Subtronics, but more so Subtronics has evolved dubstep so much in the past few years that people are adapting the types of things he's doing. I'll be the first to say it, Subtronics type songs sound immensely better than the traditional riddim that we're so used to. People seemed so scared to evolve their music. You'll see someone like Excision, essentially dropping the same song over and over. Not literally, but that riddim sound has been overplayed
