Elvis dealt with a lot of hate in his early career but he never let it stop him. Elvis didn't just open the doors for black musicians in mainstream music...he kicked them down. Before then, even radio stations were segregated. Elvis led the way to changing that.

@@dubzer0649 Elvis' legacy is in a big fight to correct the misinormation and lies that are wrongly spread on this man of love. So many comments are made about him being a racist with no evidence. In fact, countless examples exist showing how much he loved all races, all mankind. Please share this documentary with as many as you can and have them share it, especially to those in the black community who have been fed lies for years about Elvis. The black community needs to know what the truth really is.It is an insult to their intelligence when they hear these lies.Mohammed Ali said I don'f love nobody by Elvis.James Brown sat by his casket for hours.Elvis paid for Jackie Wilson's funeral and hospital bills and gave his widow thousands of dollars. He gave Roy Hamilton a song to record when he needed a hit.Chuck Berry called him king of rock and roll.He bought his black cook a house. He administered the good word to prisoners in jail..many of them black..at Christmas. He paid their bails, court costs, gave them money etc. His influence and power were so great that more people watched the first satellite performance ever given, and given by Elvis, than man's first moon landing. The US Dept of Health and Resources credits him for ended the polio epidemic.Young kids and teenagers lined up everywhere to get the vaccine when they saw Elvis receive his. He campaigned against polio. I cannot tell you all the good things he did.A thousand books have been written about him..many filled with lies to make money and lies about his real death. The autopsy said heart attack..the truth. Thanks for that. I got mad too initially. He did go through a lot when he started. They had a judge at one performance in Florida ready to arrest him if he danced. So all he did was move his pinky finger around & the girls screamed every time he did that. But it wasn’t an easy road. Some people feel he was drafted to get rid of him because he was causing so much controversy. J Edgar Hoover had a big file on him & no one could figure out why Elvis Presley would be drafted when there was no war going on. The backlash of the fans were so strong. Then his mom died two weeks before he was to be shipped to Germany. He was devastated since they were very close. His army buddies heard him sobbing at night in his bunk. He had to grow up fast. But he made some lifelong friends there though that worked with him for his entire life. Glad you played that video. There is a part 2 which I’ll check out. If it’s good I’ll recommend it in a comment section. 👍🏻🕺🏻🕺🏻🕺🏻🎸😄

Elvis made black communities music ACCEPTABLE for the white community. He gave credit to the black artist for the gospel,Rythem and Blues . One thing Elvis said he could never be as good as the original artist. There are various recording of him saying this. Right out of his mouth. He never took the credit but gave credit where credit was deserved. Elvis was so hated by the older white community. He had it rough. Now today, he's hated through misunderstandings or jealousy or just plain word of mouth for the last 30 years by the people he defended and stood by with not flinching. It's ashame. He was such a good man He didn't see colour he saw humans. Thanks for your kind remarks. Spread the love.

Because you are looking back from now, you can't comprehend the influence certain musicians have had over the years. Elvis blew everything out of the water when he became popular. Music had been all clean cut and proper till then, and although it may look tame to you, the fact that he 'gyrated his hips' whilst performing was a huge shock to people back then. 60's and 70's saw HUGE changes in the music scene. Glad you're learning all about it! 😊

Before the Hayes code Holllywood films were extremely sexually explicit. I’ve seen a few movies from the 20’s that feature nudity. It’s TV that was sanitized. Because it came into the living rooms and bedrooms of families censorship was more severe. Even after the code films were quite sexual. Off the top of my head …The 7 Year Itch is a hot one.

Subbed... I love watching reactions to this video. At the beginning, it really throws out what the worst of the 50s and '60s were, and anybody who hasn't seen it before gets a look of total disdain (as anyone should) and even sometimes out right anger. And then by the end, everybody just feels love and acceptance. On a side note, when he made the Astrodome people drive his backup singers around in a convertible, that was really cool, but to have a little blonde drive them around? FLEX!!!!

Best reaction to Elvis and the Black Community I have seen. Insightful, spot on, and gave credit where credit was due.You unfortunately had to see some hateful times and people. Things are better, but they have a long way to go and if we could get the talking heads to shut up and those making a living off of the hate and keeping it going we could be so much closer as people. A comment - Elvis took his inspiration from Blues, Gospel, as well ad "Black music/entertainers" as well as country. He spoke to this fact. Harsh and strong accusations some folks have. To know bout Elvis is to think better of him. Thank you so much for the reaction. Peace be with you.

Elvis very much understood poverty, he grew up in extreme poverty. He and his family lived in and around ghetto communities, he visited gospel churches, he had little black friends as a child, he loved to listen to gospel and other music coming from the communities. When Elvis was asked questions about political issues during live interviews by journalists, he refused to answer them. Instead he responded by saying he would rather not comment because he is just a mere singer, entertainer. Instead, his messages were in his songs, like In The Ghetto. The other song he released was If I Can Dream, which was his response to the killing of Martin Luther King and JFK. Elvis loved MLK. He could recite so many of MLK's quotes.

I love it when people "discover" the real Elvis Presley. He was the white guy who managed to show black music to the world. Because a black guy would never have that opportunity. The title of King goes far beyond Rock. Elvis is so great that he has been adored for generations around the world. I'm a Brazilian, who was born when Elvis was no longer in this world, but I'm absolutely sure that there isn't one greater than him ❤️

I'm from Atlanta Ga. My parents went to see Elvis in 1955 at a small venue in Atlanta. This was before he got really famous. My grandmother, who was extremely religious and my dad's mom, told them they were going to burn in hell for eternity because they went to see Elvis. How's that for some bullshit? Coming up in the sixties in Atlanta I witnessed so much racism. It sickened me as a child and it sickens me today. So many people have thought Elvis was racist but he wasn't. I really like your reactions and enjoy it when young people discover Elvis.

The racism in this story was so hard for me to hear & watch, so I cannot even imagine, how this felt for you, & all I can say, is I am so sorry you had to hear this type of dialog 😢 I will never understand not liking a person because of race, color, or creed, & Elvis was of the same character.......He may have been one of the most successful & recognized entertainers of all time, but his love for his fellow humans, was his true legacy 🖤🖤🖤 **RIP GREAT ONE**

I just watched your reactions to in the ghetto, if I can dream and now this and am so glad to watch you get to know and love Elvis. My mom was a huge fan from the start and then my parents moved to Las Vegas in 67 for my dad's job, a few years later mom went to work at the international hotel, which is where Elvis used to perform, her job revolved around the showroom so when ever she got a chance she would go stand in the back of the room and watch him perform, needless to say I've been a life-long fan. Really loving your vibe and looking forward to sharing more great music with you...♡

Elvis was no doubt one of thee, if not, thee most inspirational artist of all time. Yes, he influenced the black community, he influenced the white community.... He also did wonders for the brown community. All bollywood films in the 60s - every actor copied Elvis. The famous Mohamed Rafi even sang a song with Elvis Tune (Kaun Hai Jo Spanome Aya - copied from Elvis version of Marguerita) . Elvis the man who never left America, but left his footprints around the world. There will never ever be anyone like him again.
