In the 80s I drove the 350cc built in 1973 for almost a decade and I have to say that you hit the sound perfectly over the microphone and the driving feeling was immediately back! Thank you very much for that!

Brilliant. What a treat to watch. I hope when I get my 1974 350 finished I will have as much fun

Wow !. This reminds me of my non desmo 350 of 1973, which I kept for four years. Exactly the same engine sound !. Thanks.

My father has one in his lockup. He bought the very last 450cc Desmo that Mick Walker imported in 1974. He's not even ridden it a 1000 miles and it's covered in dust. It came with a factory fitted full-fairing too. Hasn't been ridden since 1980. It will be rather dusty and need a full renovation but it must be worth something I would think.

My cosin had a 450 desmo ,i can remember he use to take me to school at geebung primary and drop me off right in the middle of the parade ground, all the kids would say wow your lucky, i felt pretty cool.

Wonderful!!! Brought back memories, had a racing non-desmo 250cc with Helmut Fath conversion in early 1970s. Loved that bike, gave the sponsored racers a bit to worry about in the wet. Didn't disgrace itself in the Lord of Lydden event either. Happy days.

Guys, thanks for your comments. My friend posted the video; I rode the bike. It has been well-used and rebuilt many times since I bought it decades ago when I was a student. This is a 'brisk' parade, not a race, and we are not supposed to 'cut up' other riders but it's a lot of fun and almost the only occasion in Ireland where we can give road-legal classics max throttle! It was cancelled in 2020 but let's hope it will be run again in 2021.

Great video! Multi cylinder bikes can howl and wail and let everybody in the entire countryside know. But give me a woofing, roaring, torquey old single any day. I'm not trying to beat the raindrops to my destination.

The rider of the little Honda 4 needs to take up drag racing!!! Cos he is crap in the corners, Your Ducati outhandled him every time. No wonder the Smaller capacity Ducati's have such a good reputation for go and handling! Yours looked and sounded as smooth as silk. A great ride all round, thanks for sharing!!!

Had one of these for many years. Most fun bike I ever owned. Torque & handling more than made up for the HP it lacked & at 18, I'd race anybody back then. Dearly miss it, but lack of parts & $$ got me to sell it back in the 90s.

Superb footage, mine was a 350 cafe racer but this brings it all back. Never understood why singles are known as thumpers?!

Love the way he out-corners and outbrakes the bigger bikes, typical Ducati Single!

rustyosh... Used Go-Pro Hero 4 in waterproof case... The waterproof case came with 3 door options, solid for up to 40mts depth, a thin back for surface waterproofing & a door frame with no glass (splash-proof but best for sound)... used this door on case with chest harness other than that all luck rather than design... Hope helps... JG

It was told about 100 mph by Ducati themselves. Probably ok considering the low cx.
