Have a 996 and may be low on power but the sound with the termignoni cans and an aftermarket clutch cover . If you don't know about dry clutches you would think the motor has a rod knock till you pull the clutch lever in and it sounds like sounds like links of a chain banging around .

My zx9 made much more power but in 1999 everyone was more excited about my friends r6 . I rode my friends bike thought the front was very unstable . Needed a dampener . Had to have a dampener on my gsxr race bike for the rules but had it turned down to the lowest setting . Like my zx9 did not think it needed it

Bought a New 996 in 2000....almost bought a Demonstrator....then noticed the Reg number....it was this actual 996....so gave it a miss. Lol.
