My first Desert X I shipped to Uk from Australia.. it took my to Iceland and all the way down to Croatia . Sadly stolen in Italy . Now I have purchased a second hand one in New Mexico . I hope to ride down to Patagonia . I’m in awe of your mechanical prowess. I’d love to chat with you as to any tips on maintenance down south . Absolutely amazing skills and respect to you mate .

20 min job. Under tank location is the cleanest area to draw engine air from. Put a Unifilter foam element in and 10k mile swap is fine. Vid of over 12k on a Unifilter (ADV Ducati DesertX Australia crossing) is viewable for anyone who doubts this fact. Funny how the KTM crowd was fine with this under tank filter location on the 1090. They understood that putting the filter in a more accessible spot resulted in way more dusting of the element. My DesertX has 9k miles riding in Texas, around 3k off road. My filter is lightly dusted.

Thank you, everyone, I still need some time to work on Part II, as I recently rode the Desert X from Bogota, Colombia to Santiago, Chile for about 12K kilometers. This gave me enough time to have an educated idea about this bike. At the same time, I need to work and make money to support myself, work has been quite busy lately as well. I am sorry for the delay on Part II but soon enough I will film it.

Hello great video, do you have a wiring diagram for how you wired up the gps JST plug to the WAGO 221 Lever Nuts? did you connect the gps tablet to it? or what did you connect? did you just use as a splitter? if so can you explain how you did it. I have been trying to figure out solution to do my own controller and Gps tablet and other accessories. Thanks in advance.
@RideMust
@RideMust 5 ай бұрын
There is the OEM GPS Switched Power line behind the dash. It is not connected to anything and has the female white adapter at the end. I used a WAGO 4 way distributor connected to that source to use it for GPS, USD Pd Outlet and lights.

Nice run through. DDX on the Western Slope here - touch base if you ride through. A few questions... The electrical block connectors - where'd you source those? The combined USB/Voltage readout - where'd you source that? The air filter - did you omit the buried back screws on re-installation of the cover? Last, did you replace that lower black plastic wind fairing when installing the crash bars? I've got the mounts set with the skid plate replacement but that wind fairing looks like avoidable misery unless absolutely necessary for steering clearance. Thanks, safe riding!
@RideMust
@RideMust Жыл бұрын
Both the USB outlet and the block connectors were from Amazon + SW Motech USB Outlet Handlebar holder. Links on description... I did not omit the any screws, I just got so frustrated while putting them back on started cursing so did not use the footage :D . Yeah, I did replace the lower fairing part for the crash bars but honestly I could not film every other step on some sections. I took the entire headlight assembly off anyhow so it was not a big deal to install that part, you need to take the coolant overflow reservoir bolts off to reach one of the bolts though.

Damn sorry you lost all your previous content. I was subscribed so it must have been good! Great video, that's gonna be a hell of a bike! Focal depth, lighting and shot angles were great, can see the effort you put in. Edit: Ah I see your website, of course it looks fantastic it's what you do! Was the Scott's Damper enough of a upgrade over stock to warrant it? What's the reason to go with a pannier system? Completely aesthetically subjective but imo panniers can ruin the look of a bike, and can be a cause of injury in a crash. Went with the Reckless 80 system from Mosko on my 701 Enduro personally. Excited to hear that de-cat + exhaust!
@RideMust
@RideMust Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the compliment and being a subscriber! The stock damper was kind of in the way of my tank bag where I carry my camera on projects and I also wanted a damper that I could adjust compared to the non-adjustable stock one. About pannier racks: The racks I installed can be taken off the bike quite easily, for aggressive riding but when I am on a long trip I prefer to use soft panniers, I like Mosko Moto bags in general and traveled with them in the past but Reckless 80 (Was on a 690 Enduro for a KLIM project in Colombia with them two years ago) is not my favorite for long trips, very hard to get stuff in and out imho. I have been using the Enduristan Monsoon Evo panniers for the past few years and quite happy with the system. Stay tuned for Part II, you will hear the bike and see the rest of the setup entirely.

Thank you! Do you mean the USB outlet I installed or the connection I got power from to it? I can tell that the USB outlet is charging my phone way faster than the USB port on the side of the dashboard.
@Pedro_CNC
@Pedro_CNC Жыл бұрын
@@RideMustI’m sorry, I wasn’t clear. I refer to the connector you got power from. I think that connector is there to power the optional Ducati (Garmin) Navigator. I was wondering if maybe it has its own “Accesories” fuse for safety located in the fusebox.
@RideMust
@RideMust Жыл бұрын
@@Pedro_CNC No worries, I have connected both my Garmin GPS and the USB Outlet to that connector and so far it has been working fine. Not sure about the fuse layout, as far as I know you have 6 fuses in the fuse box and 4th one is labeled Dashboard, could be that one? But I have in-line fuses both the cables coming from the GPS and the USB Outlet just in case.

Thank you! Well, for heated grips and the fog lights unfortunately you need to go an authorized Ducati dealer to get them activated by the computer. Installing them is super easy and plug but no play until you give em a visit. :)
