Lamb Chop Rides yeah agree, I remember when that came out and it was mega bucks, like £40/50k. Someone had more money than sense. Such a shame. Would you or I leave a Ducati V4 Speciale or 1299 aniversario laying about collecting shit. Ffs who was the guy??

reminds me of when i was 18, i used to go to the ducati dealer every week just to see this beauty.. the pricetag was just insane, there is not a big chance i will ever have this much money to spend on a bike. one day she was gone and it was the last time i've seen a desmo RR in real life and it propably will stay like that for a long time

The backstory on the unfinished project bike that ended with a new project bike was rather silly. It was a little like "i ordered a small pizza and could not eat it all, so my solution was to order another pizza only this time make it an extra large"

yes. his solution was to get another project bike. like when you get stuck you do something else instead because it was too hard. who will think this project goes well?

I rode a Desmo on the road and thought it was the worst bike I have ever ridden on the road... it’s not a road bike that’s for sure. Now, on the track thats probably a very different story and a friend of mine has one and he says the same thing. Beautiful to look at, and if you have the monies, then fair play to you. 👍
@johnhogan81776 жыл бұрын
Craig Barker Neo the worst bike you’ve ever ridden on the road? What else have you ridden?
@craigbarkerneo81176 жыл бұрын
John Hogan everything, up to about 8 years ago. I was a motorcycle technician for 16 years. At that time, the Ducati 1098R was a lovely bike to ride. If only I could afford one. “🤔 dream on” As well as the CBR1000 was nice round the corners. And the Suzuki SV650, with the balance of the lighter 650 engine compared the 1000 engine. Once again nice and easy to ride. But, now 8years later, and the advancement of all the models, and the cost of them now, wow. Hitting home to me, now, I listen to the guys who ride them for a living and the feedback. I feel customers should definitely get a test ride before they purchase, thou. With the cost of 20k bikes, crazy. And in the Desmo defence, if ridden on a fast road, then once again will probably be much better. At that time I was stuck in a major city. But, you would think the 1098R would be a handful in the city and it wasn’t. 😳👍🏽

Cool but lets be honest. In 2006 Honda smashed these machines (and by some measure Yamaha too). Awesome? Not so much. Eh, it's the rider, not the machine. Ducati only wins when they have a dominate rider so far above that could win on any bike, despite the Ducati shortcomings. They mostly lose.
