Ducati Diavel Dark stealth - review

I own the 1260S and it is the most fun bike I've ever ridden. I'll go for early morning rides, the adrenaline rush is far better than caffeine in the morning. The engine just begs to be driven. You twist that throttle and the engine roars and stretches your arms; fantastic fun. Mine is red with the red trellis and I think it is the best looking bike; everyone compliments me on it. If you take the time to tune the suspension, this bike will lean like a sport or naked bike, I'm all the way over the edge on my rear tire. The bike is so nimble and agile you forget that it was designed to be a cruiser. Straight line acceleration is incredible for such a big bike. From a stop light I'll hit 60mph before crossing the pedestrian lines on the other side of a typical 2 lane each way intersection; fantastic performance.

I have one, not sure I’d compare it to a Harley, as it smokes a harley in every respect, you can do power wheelies in touring mode. I just rode mine 6000kms completely comfortable and you can still put it through corners at a decent speed

I fully agree what you are stated. I do own more or less the same model since 2011 and still takeing pictures of it again and again. The power, the torque and the timeless style is not available on the market on any other bike. The time was up, that someboody highlighted this again. Thanks a lot.

Hey Luis, cool bike , a few friends have had the Fatboy and loved it . The Diavel I own is a 2013 , currently 15000 km and rode hard . Still no issues or red flags . The newer ones are supposed to be just as reliable, like Harleys , the used ones are usually well loved and looked after. I’d buy a 2013 or 2014 for sure . And save a ton of $ from new. Cheers

Have a 2013 848 Streetfighter and l was thinking bout trading her in for a 2016 Diavel Carbon, but l could not do it. Love my 848 too much.

thinking of upgrading to this from my monster plus. The increase horsepower would be awesome as i test rode one once long before i couldnt afford it and man it was nuts so much power off the line. But i do miss the cruiser styling but with other cruisers you sacrifice the power so this bike seems so worth it for my market interest. Does it come with an option passenger set up though or just single seat set up?

Hey guitarman0365 , I’m literally making a video about that right now….it’s actually a two up seat which is hidden under the plastic tail piece ( held on by two screws ) and the foot pegs are folded up, along side of the body ( very well hidden ). More than enough torque for doubling, but it makes you realize just how stiff that suspension is ! My daughter finds it more comfortable than the Harley . I’m seriously not making that up ! Cheers

Any issues with the bike so far, hows reliability?

Honestly, the only issue so far , was when the battery in my fob died . It eventually worked, changed the battery and no more problems. Always starts, it’s never thrown any warning signs or codes on the display. 4 years and 21 000 km . I’ve always done my maintenance. I’m sure there’s always a few bad apples with any bike manufacturer .but , me , and some others I’ve met have never had any real problems. Cheers

On the Diavel and Ducati forums, there are no repeated issues that would point o a design flaw. 2 year unlimited mile warranty that is 100% transferable. Audi invested 100's of million in Ducati and the results are great electronics, solid engine design, Audi reliability with 100% Italian design and performance.
