Ducati Dirty Dozen - Episode 2 (Day 3)

Day 3 of our ride on the Ducati Dirty Dozen challenge. We intentionally skipped over day two.
On day 3, we rode 7 peaks:
-Stony Pass 12,592ft (3,838m)
-Cinnamon Pass 12,620ft (3847m)
-California Pass 12,960ft (3950m)
-Hurricane Pass 12,730ft (3880m)
-Corkscrew Pass 12,244ft (3732m)
-Imogene Pass 13,114 (3997m)
-Ophir Pass 11,814ft (3601m) Optional, not officially part of the challenge
I got our first (and only) flat tire of the trip. Yes, I have tubes in my tubeless rims. Seating a tubeless tire on a wide rim can be nearly impossible with a small pump while on trail. The DX rims are very wide and with certain tires, we've even had a tough time seating them in the shop with a 5hp air compressor.

The lake between California and hurricane is one of my favorite spots on the alpine loop.

Yeah, the lake is stunning; that whole area is F'n amazing. My favorite spot is right after Corkscrew when the dirt changes color to cinnamon; the view is epic.

I can only recall one pass where a GS rider had a bucket list climb. Some riders turned back and others helped each other. It may have been the Ofir or maybe Engineer's pass.

It definitely wouldn't be Ophir, as it's ridable on a Harley Sportster. One side of Engineer Pass is a bit spicy.

Well done! Impressed with how you two handled the "middleweight" DesertX. I thoroughly enjoy my DesertX, but lack the skills and guts to tackle the Dirty Dozen :(

It's a Skydio 2; it does a great job with it works!

@@CamelADV It kills me that I did not buy a Skydio when I was looking at them a while back. They are unavailable to buy now.......They are focusing on commercial stuff now. The Skydio was too cool for the public I guess!

I like both; the T7 for harder offroad riding and the DesertX for actual ADV travel.

These videos have been cool to see. I hope to make it down to Colorado some day. Question unrelated to the video: Would you rather have a KTM 890 adventure R or a T7 with the price difference put into modifications?

I had a built-up 790R and it sat in the garage while I rode the T7. The T7 is a better bike for ME and the riding I do. YMMV

Logistics? Interstate 15 to Interstate 70. Ride there or drive then ride; I've done both.
