Just bought this bike yesterday. The grin factor and the fact this thing is nimble and easily controlled were the main reasons I pulled the trigger on the hyper 796. Lovely bike that is incredibly fun to ride. Great review as well!

@MrThewaffen The price in the UK is £7795 but in Australia I would recommend approaching the Ducati dealer network or importer. As for importing from USA, that would be a harder route than inquiring in the country of use. We do not know the regulations regards exporting/importing from the USA to Australia.

Great review, good to see all the small details in a review.. So many reviewers just gloss everything over..

Great review (as usual). When it comes to "fun factor" and city riding, would you choose the Hyper 796 or the Monster 796?

@pjdaprinz Ohhhhh you know, I really liked the mutate, but something about the monster that stirs my loins!! The motard defo has a massive fun and practicality level, whole monster prob not as nimble....tricky one.... Test ride em both!! ;-)

Side impacts are bad for everyone, even cars. And if you don't want your legs out for the world to mince, a scooter wouldn't be a bad idea.

Mate I am living in the USA atm and recently checked the price here on the hypermotard a month or so back. Before tax you are looking at a fraction over $10,000USD and I believe the tax I believe is 6.25% in Texas for example. Now I checked the price of the same bike in Australia and it was somewhere around $17,500 if memory serves me correctly. So bottom line is if you buy that bike in Australia you are going to get bent over prison style. Importing is likely to be actually worth considering.
