Your Hypermotard needs: -BST Rapid Tek Carbon Fiber Wheels -IRC Quickshifter -Mobil 1 oil change to get rid of the fog in the oil window -Open clutch cover to expose that dry clutch (Speedymoto from the good old USA) --Some new front brake and clutch reservoirs to replace those nasty old ones -Corse Dynamics engine stand (it would make it quite easier) -Bonamici rearsets

Hi Chops, great video idea. I have a ‘10 Multistrada which I have supermoto’d and one thing that really needed doing after 8 years or so was to change the throttle cables. The old ones had gradually disintegrated inside with water ingress and made it very difficult to wheelie as they were very sticky. New cables..... no problem. Well, for the bike anyway...... protective film on the paint too, you can get brilliant self healing stuff now. Oh, put it on the forks too. Ceramic coat the wheels and callipers....... enjoy!

Micro indicators would look cool on your bike too. They are the size of a large bolt head and extremely bright. You guessed it, they are on my multi too. I took the handguards off my bike which improved the look of the bike no end. Try your bike like that, although you’ll lose your fold ins. I put Rizoma mirrors on mine though, which are also really nice and would suit the motard. Have a nice day 🙂

The foamy (milky) condensation is fairly common to see in the sight glass. I've had my 2008 Hypermotard S since 2008. Taking it for a ride and getting the bike up to temperature actually cures the issue. When you check the oil you won't notice it in the oil. Ducati also recommended switching from the Shell (what it came from the factory) to Mobil 1 or even Motul also minimizes the foaming. Lots of information on the Ducati forums. The bikes are super reliable but don't like to be neglected or kept outside. I don't ride it as much now that I have the Superduke GT.

Last year I've changed the forks, supported under the engine, then I used custom made from a friend standard, supporting it in the frame holes on top of rear sets for changing the chain and sprocket, I don't know who and how had tighten the rear axle nut, it came out really hard /even I was using an impact gun/ but the really hard part was the front sprocket nut (you better do it on the ground) ..The last thing I did was a STM clutch, and DP street fighter open clutch cover, really nice, didn't take the casing out to cut it, but I would, maybe next time. Good luck with the bike! I will fallow the series with interest!

Chops, if the hyper is anything like a 916/996, then get bike supported from under engine. With exhaust removed. Bit like an Mx bike. Then all bodywork and tank off, then front and back wheels. Then remove anything that stops you lifting the frame from the engine. Air box etc. You could remove subframe? I’ve never worked on a hyper Moto. Then remove rear engine bolts and swingarm spindle. Loosen front engine bolt. Should be able to lift frame up at rear, remove swing arm and then remove front engine bolt. Frame can then be lifted away, with forks still in yokes. Sounds complicated but really easy tbh. Wish I could come over and help as I can rebuild 916/999/1098 with my eyes shut. 😉 blinking covid 19. Enjoy the build, looking forward to further episodes. 👍🏻

Hello. I suggest that you watch one of the videos about how this motorcycle is manufactured - then do everything in reverse. I know there is a one hour video about how the MG Agusta was manufactured. In that, they mounted the engine on a low metal "egg crate" and then build the bike around and above it.
@markwat59584 жыл бұрын
Had exact same model a couple of years ago, a total wheelie/lean meister! A few mods I did to mine which just made it a little prettier and user friendly. Ducati flyscreen Ducati mirror relocation kit. Uses the existing mirrors by fixing to stems and screwing to clutch and brake lever brackets, the constant adjustment and flappy nature of the bar end position will do your nut in after a while. R & G tail tidy, just a note though, the number plate will be very close to the single side Termi, I always used a smaller one but you will have to use a drop bracket to fit a standard plate for MOT. Ducati sport seat, better sculpted and not like siting on a concrete block (on its side) Carbon rear under seat shrouds If you take the exhaust off you can use a scissor/platform jack under the engine and strap it down Looking forward to how you get on

Strap the frame from your ceiling,roof trusses? Get the tank and seat off and slide a bar through the frame and make wooden supports to take the weight at each end of the bar.An upright piece of studwork with a v in the top and a piece on the floor to act as a foot,2 braces at 45degrees to stabilize it.Then you can lower the engine/swinging arm .How about one of those hydraulic tables to lift Motorcross bikes/Harleys to lower the engine? Good luck with your wallet chops!😂😂😂👍🏻

To get the rear of the bike up off the ground, I use a strap wrapped around the rear subframe and my engine hoist. It's good to also have the front stabilized by a paddock stand. What you could do with your abba stand is try and get a bit of round bar through the subframe and lift that way

Have you got any joists or anything you can strap the frame to, to hold the bike up? something to build a strong bridge type structure across it, or in front and behind could also be an option, strong step ladders can hold but not ideal.

You could loosen all bolts whilst still on Abba stand. Leave front end attached and hold up with normal bike stand. Remove rear wheel as you can do this with rear stand in place (insert goes into hub). Using A frame ladder with pole in between, or 2 ladders with pole between, ratchet strap rear subframe to hold. Transmission jack would do the same, but more expense. Jack under engine. Remove engine bolts and drop engine down from frame on the jack. Could use ratchet strap to raise rear end further for more clearance. Trick is getting something to support the rear subframe to allow the engine to drop down on the jack.

I made a custom tail tidy for my bike (also has the single termi) as all of the aftermarket tail tidys on the market are designed for the double termi meaning they all stick out too far. If you search for "Diy Tail Tidy For Single Exhaust Setup (1st Gen)" on the ducati uk forum you'll find my thread about it. Only potential issue is I had to use an 8"x6" plate however it still passes MOT's fine. Alloy subframes for the bike exist, I got mine from Italy and I imagine they won't be available anytime soon because of the current situation. For the airbox/intake you can either get an MWR HE filter which replaces the top half of the airbox or a set of velocity stacks with filters, they both make a huge difefrence to these bikes.

You can do it your way but you might want to have a second pair of helping hands getting the bike off. Maintenance wise I would do the whole engine outside and clearances. Could maybe use a new clutch and an open cover ;) Loom should be okay but I would check the sensors on the engine, especially the temperature sensor on your front cylinder, they tend to be corroded. Replace the tubes from the reservoir the the master cylinder for both clutch and brakes and maybe the whole stuff in the tank such as filters or even seal the tank newly due to rust if its metal. Greetings from Stuttgart.
