Those screws are JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard), that's why your philips is stripping them out. Replacing with allen was the right choice.

Would you please share where did you buy the jets. I couldn’t find a place where they included O-rings

Why are there only 3 of the 4 plugs for the bowls?

Thanks for your excellent videos, there is not much info related to these Mikuni carburetors, even at manufacturer’s website. I wonder is these are double BDST 38mm carburetors, I have a Ducati Monster 600 year 2000 and seems mine is also equipped with same ones. I am looking for info how to adjust gas-air mixture since spark plugs are getting dark to fast and I think gas mixture is too rich and must be reduced. Thanks in advance for any recommendation. Regards, Rafael

Rafael Mora the carburetors in the video are out of that exact bike. I simply changed the main jet, if I recall correctly, to get the mixture right for my larger displacement motor. Carburetors are still something I'm figuring out. If you're specifically talking about idle mixture ONLY it's the mixture screws adjustable externally. Otherwise make sure the jets are clean and the float bowls height is set correctly.

Bastian D. Thank you again, I will try adjusting external screws to balance mixture. All my best.

Getting ready to clean my 2001 Dark 750's carbs. This will be my first time (only owned for a year) Do you recommend doing an upgraded jet kit, or is tuning pretty difficult?

Caleb Hood I actually went with Dynojet stage 1 enhanced Jets because they were easier for me to get my hands on to replace the incorrectly sized Jets in these carburetors. I think messing with Jets is fine and tuning won't be much of a pain. I highly recommend avoiding going too hardcore and definitely do not replace the stock airbox! Doing a pod air intake replacement leads to horrible outcomes with carbureted bikes and they end up never running as well as they did stock. Search for "Ducati suite" -- the guy as a lot of write ups of his own DIY maintenance and mods on his Monster of the same vintage. He explains the troubles he had with the air intake replacement and warns against it as well. Jets are fine :)

Bastian D. I haven't done anything to it besides upgraded exhaust. I'm assuming I should go with a stock upgrade kit.

Caleb Hood You can if you want. DynoJet provides one with both jets in the kit for an aftermarket exhaust, and jets for the stock exhaust. I don't know of many other manufacturers for jet kits for performance. Both jets come in the same kit and I ended up using the YJ128s as shown in the video due to having an aftermarket exhaust. As far as increase in power: I'm not sure that's a fair question to ask me as the jets from the rebuilt carbs were sized for a 620cc engine instead of 750cc so it was more of a corrective installation. This only replaces the main jet so it won't affect idle tuning. You may find that you won't even need to tune it. Depends on the carbs! The only things to do really are: ensure the float height is set correctly in the float bowls (Google to find out more), and ensure everything is clean and there aren't any blockages. Then just sync up the carbs when the bike is running and you're golden (provided your idle is happy).

Caleb Hood if you run into issues you can always toss the stock jets back in! You'll most likely be fine without needing to adjust anything, just install the jets and you're off! As long as the bike is running good in its current state :) Good luck!

Those are not Philips heads. Those are JIS heads. You have to use JIS screwdriver to not strip them. Using Philips is an easy way to strip heads as the Philips do not fit the heads properly. Check for the difference between PH and JIS and you will see.
