At 13m after the train tracks go straight and take the right after the straight. Takes you back to dover on an awesome sweepy farm road. I used to go the way you go until I found that option.

A 937 cc bike, a beginner's motorcycle. I would query that! Great bike bar the stock suspension, upgraded with adjustable suspension from Nitron UK and the bike came alive!

I agree about the stock suspension. The SP version is excellent if funds allow. I have since sold the monster for a Streetfighter V4S.

Hey man, great video really like your reviewing style and delivery of words. Can I ask where in the States this is? It looks absolutely beautiful, kinda reminds me of the English countryside.

Thanks for the nice feedback! I am riding in northern Maryland - a lot of farms and horses up here. The southern parts of the state are more developed and not as fun to ride. Eastern and western Maryland are also nice rides, so I hope to do more of those in the spring/summer. Where in England are you based?

Excelent video, one thing that I would love to know is how expensive is to own a Ducati, the maintenance, what happens if you drop the bike, how expensive is to fix it, how much does it coes to do the services. I'm asking because one thing is to just buy the bike, you can find the bike second hand for less than 9000 euros with not that many miles, but then I wonder if something happens to the bike, I might be screwed. Would love to know. Thanks alot!
@Dr.MichaelsMotorcycles3 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching and commenting! The 600 mile service for Ducati runs anywhere from $350 and $500, depending on where you live. The oil changes can be done by yourself, but you will need to go to a dealer to reset the computer. I haven't gotten to any major service, but from what I hear the valve service at 18,000 miles is quite expensive. I never keep my bikes that long though, I like new toys haha.
@mandonga12003 ай бұрын
@@Dr.MichaelsMotorcycles That is really good to know, because its quite significant the difference between the service from the Ducati compared to a Honda or something else even tho you might pay the same for the bike second hand. I hope you are enjoying the Streetfighter V4S. By the way, have you had a change to try the new Triumph Street Triple R? I really love the bike but I've heard that the 3 cilinder bikes have an annoying vibration compared to the balance 2 or 4 cilinder ones. Take care!

With all changes from the last gen Monster (specifically the 821), this bike lost almost 40 lbs (frame, wheels, etc). The Panigale had a trellis frame at one time as well...don't recall seeing people getting bent out o shape over that🤔
@Dr.MichaelsMotorcycles Жыл бұрын
Great point! The Monster was always meant to be a naked version of Ducati's current sport bike. It would have been strange to change the Panigale frame while keeping the Monster frame the same.
@dlul_ Жыл бұрын
@@Dr.MichaelsMotorcycles Not really, the original monster was the supersport engine in an old gen superbike frame (851). Only the liquid cooled ones (s4, s4r, s4rs) were the naked versions of the current sport bikes - but still on the old frame. That branch eventually became the streetfighters and at the same time ducati released the "modernized" monster that lost all the good looks (from the 696 on, in 2008)

Ducati Monster as a "beginner bike"? Where are we getting up, guys? Why? This is shit about "beginner friendly" bikes (especially when we are talking above 750 cc) has to end. If you are a new rider, start off with something smaller, lighter, more nimble and safer. An A LOT less expensive. When you get some experience, buy whatever you like. New riders getting such bikes is pure posing.
@Dr.MichaelsMotorcyclesАй бұрын
I tend not to discuss price as a deciding factor when purchasing a bike. Everyone has different levels comfort when it comes to spending money. That said, the Monster has all the features you said are important. It is light, small, nimble, and has a lot of electronic safety features. It also has an Urban mode which reduces horsepower to 75 with a lighter throttle response. Have you had a chance to ride the Monster?
@kaveiros75Ай бұрын
@@Dr.MichaelsMotorcycles Yes, I have. This, and most of the Monsters, to be honest. You are absolutely right about how light and nimble it is, and the sense of security it gives you. (Even if we throw the economic factor away, which of course doesn't include just the price of purchasing the bike)... Still, such bikes are not "beginner's bikes". Anything more than 90-100 hp needs some experience and some respect towards the throttle. How many "beginners" do you think will not be tempted to switch to the other 2 modes after a few weeks? - Would you ever consider "beginner friendliness" of a Ferrari or a Porsche or even a Range Rover as a factor when reviewing it? You wouldn't even mention such a thing.
