I was hoping you'd show us the technique used to make this gorgeous piece. I'm sure it took years of practice and knowledge to produce it.

Please watch the 3 min aluminum gas tank video and all the other 3 minute videos. I will eventually follow up with details of guided explanations. By The Way yes it’s taken a decade to perfect the technique.

@@legendarydave333 I have served apprenticeships in everything from sales to journalism to advertising to violin making to race car fabrication to printing, etc. etc..and now I am beginning my metal shaping career. Just had first lesson in gas welding aluminum (using oxy and hydrogen, not acetylene) so I have a real good idea of what to expect in the future. I'm guessing it will take me 3-4 years to churn out an acceptable product and then a few more to be a journeyman.

I wanted to get one of these for my 2003 Ducati monster 620. Do you recon we can talk about this and make some sort of a deal?

@@legendarydave333 i need a replacement fuel tank
@legendarydave333 Жыл бұрын
Not sure if this will fit tho. I only have tooling for the S2 and S4R. Idk if that will work. Either way, with the inflation, cost of aluminum and shipping it’ll be just north of 3000. I don’t want to discourage you but…I’ve sold a few at that price and the further our economy goes into the shitter, the more they will cost. It’s a huge huge job that requires machined pieces and lots of welding after the main parts are fabricated.

@@legendarydave333 ah unfortunately those won't fit. But your price point is approximately same as OEM parts but better made so it is good value

Thank you for your time

I can see where you’ve gone astray. You copied the original as close as possible when a different fuel cap (Newton) would have been as easier unit to fit.

Astray? LOL I love people’s suggestions who’s never had the wherewithal to build something this technical and artful, however Try to make one of these and you will see why I fabricated them in this technique. There was one more person on earth that had the ability built these. And it wasn’t you.
