Good review with useful info about the mods made. I’d be interested to hear how living with the Monster is going..particularly the heat issue (should really have waited a few months until we hit the Australian summer).
@benwoodruff4466Ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment. I generally ride with leathers and have never noticed excessive heat, even in traffic. These aren’t really meant for the city where heat would be a problem in the summer, much more suited on open back rounds. 👌

It’s worth noting that Ducati’s guidance specifies using fuel with a minimum octane rating of RON 95, not 95 exclusively. They actually recommend a range of 95-98 RON with up to 10% ethanol content. The manual also highlights that using fuel with higher than 10% ethanol can damage the engine and void the warranty. So while RON 95 is fine, opting for a higher premium fuel like 98 RON is acceptable-and even recommended if you’re aiming for peak performance within the engine’s capabilities. - At least according to their manual.
@benwoodruff446621 күн бұрын
@@xanderworker5449 Agree, the manuals are published based on manufacturing recommendations however in practical testing Ducati themselves will always recommend 95, even prior to purchasing & during servicing to remind you of this. I have only ever used 98 & tuned bikes using this fuel however if you use a genuine Ducati shop they will advise against it.
@xanderworker544921 күн бұрын
@benwoodruff4466 Thanks for the detailed info! I also have a Monster S (2023), but no one passed along that detail to me. 😅 I was just told RON 95 minimum with a max 10% ethanol content. Here, Shell offers two V-Power options: Diesel and Petrol. Most of the time, the petrol’s octane rating isn’t listed, but when it is, it shows as 98-so I’m guessing 98 is the standard across the country.

How would you rate the bike overall 1-10? Thanks
@benwoodruff446621 күн бұрын
@@LifebyDesign For my first naked I must say I’m impressed & the amount of attention it gets surprised me. I did want Cruise Control only for when I’m in a tunnel or unknown speed camera zone & the overpriced muffler it comes with as stock, you can’t remove the baffles. So for these reasons I’d give it a generous 8/10.

@@J-Rod73 Hi, thanks for your comment. Having only just bought the Bike I cannot comment as Sydney is similar to Florida in the summer but as it’s the winter riding the bike in traffic is not bad at all. I have the ‘23 monster sp and ride in NYC on a daily basis. Once the temps get to 30c or 86f… city ride becomes unbearable. However, if you are on open highways going over 60 mph or 90 kmph, it’s fine.

Thanks for your comment, was looking at either the single titanium Mivv or SC SC1-S, my only issue with the SC is they use a two baffle system for Euro 5 so aren’t truly removed but the Mivv comes completely out. 🎶🎶🎶 I used a 15 Pro Max to film. I had the monster plus and the suspension was too meh. SP is better. I traded it in for a streetfighter V4 that I got a great deal on since it was a 23 leftover $4000 off. With the amount of mods you did why didn't you just go for a SF v4?
@stevelesnick62682 ай бұрын
Just traded my V4S for this. The Streetfighter is way to much for the streets where I ride ( tight curves) and I wanted something I could wail on. Dont do track anymore so……..
@pennfootball712 ай бұрын
@@stevelesnick6268 but the street fighter is not a track bike at all! My Suzuki GSX R1000R whoops it’s ass. The Ducati is like a go to Starbucks bike and is comfortable to ride to work and stuff for me. Just test ride a GSX R1000R for the twisties and you will be amazed. And it’s actually kind of comfortable. I’m 6 foot about 245 pounds and it doesn’t hurt my back. The Monster does have a tighter turning circle in the street fighter though especially like really tight curves and slow stuff it was like a motor scooter agile. The Suzuki is still better though… just take all your corners in second gear in anything you ride & you’ll never have a problem.
@benwoodruff446622 күн бұрын
Thanks for your comment, I paid just over $19k aud for the bike that included all on roads & was brand new, all the little extras has brought the cost to around $23k aud. A base Streetfighter V2 was around $25k so I remain happy with the purchase as it also generates a lot of conversion, a base Streetfighter would just be another Streetfighter in the car park. 😅
@pennfootball7122 күн бұрын
@ base huh? Lol the only “advantage” the SF V4S has is a wiz electronic bang suspension. I also don’t have a base model anymore…I put on an Arrow exhaust and had a BT Moto tune unlock the engine and turn off the Euro 5 Nannies from the environmental nutters! I am pushing almost 210 hp at the wheel. Ducati restricts power in 1,2,3,4 gears and turned that off as well. ;) The only bike that can beat mine is a science project Ninja H2 that is not very attractive.
