Ducati Multistrada V4 Rally test at the Bosnia Rally 2023

The 2023 Bosnia Rally was once again an incredibly fascinating off-road adventure and took us through one of the most beautiful sections of the Balkans. In the paddock, you will mainly find single-cylinder and light two-cylinder models. However, we also ventured to the start with the big Multistrada V4 Rally. In the course of the tough off-road use, we were able to get the best out of the Ducati's handling qualities. How did the technology carrier from Bologna and all its features perform in practice? 5 tough off-road riding days gave us the answer!

I traded my V4S in for the Rally as soon as they released it, great to have the extra tank range and the new black SP style colour way looks awesome. This is a great review, the Rally is very capable but like the review concludes for those interested in greater off road capability than it can offer see the Desert X.

After 11K kilometer with the Rally in Central Europe, I so far never had an issue with the bike. It is the touring machine with the highest price in Europe but you get what you pay for. Top notch parts where ever you look. In very thight corners on alpine passes, the bike has excellent low speed manuverability. High speed on German Autobahn also is no problem at all. Same applies for gravel roads. I am not doing the rough stuff with it. Good job Ducati.

Great bike, just got one and will be getting the 20mm lowering kit from Ducati as its just too tall for the 99.9% time I will be riding it on streets. I wish Ducati made the 180mm travel standard and 200mm an option as height will turn off many shorter riders. 8 gallon tank is the star here and is barely noticeable over standard V4 Multi, getting around 41 MPG and motor is still breaking in. Brakes are great as well as power, engine is smooth over 3,000 rpms as cylinder deact makes it rough running under that rpm. Bike is big and heavy but feels 100 lbs lighter once in motion. Overall great bike!😎

Just that the suspension isn't upto the standard of 901 expedition, 890 ktm rally, 1290 ktm adventure r and its younger sibling Desert X Rally.

Can you describe precisely what it is lacking? Bottoming out? Lack of compression, rebound or damping compared to those listed?
