I own a GT PRO and I broadly agree with your comments especially wind protection, but you can solve that with a replacement screen (WRS do a nice one which I’ll probably switch over too). The Ducati definitely has the edge on bragging rights but in the real world on a long ride it’s just not as comfortable. Performance is superior on the Ducati, but the Triumph is very fast (but restricted on top speed)…… The party trick of the Triumph is the suspension, the damping is really wide ranging and very effective…… In the end the Triumph got my money because A) it was thousands of pounds cheaper and B) It’s built in the U.K., I’m not keen on relying on European supply chains anymore since Brexit C) The Ducati is way over priced on everything from servicing, parts and initial cost

Thanks for the insights and a hint on the windshield choice - if this particular brand actually works well of course. This we will know once you try but I've seen it mentioned somewhere else in the comments, so it likely will.

I find the windscreen complaints surprising! I own the 1200 GT pro and genuinely do not have any buffeting issues. I'm 6ft even and wear an AGV k5 helmet. No wind issues for me.

Just swapped my V4S for a Rally Explorer after 2 years if ownership. In summary, the V4 engine is superior to the triple for performance. The RE is more comfy and has the 30lt tank and doesnt cost 7k more kike the new V4Rally. The RE has a shaft but feels like its chain driven. The V4S turns quickly and feels light and planted. The RE turns in slower but is still flickable when you need it. If you want a Panagali on stilts then go for the V4S, its a stunning bike with some short comings. If you want a tall, long legged tourer then its the RE all day long.

I love your review! You bring up things that people who are going to own the bikes for a long period of time will deal with. One thing to add in future videos would be maintenance, I know you bring it up with chain vs shaft but things like valve check intervals and how hard are air and oil filter changes I think would be useful as well. Keep up the great work!

Very nice video mate! As an owner of a rally pro with a cruise control i prefer the shaft drive because in my opinion, ACC is not very safe on motorcycles. It makes you relax and when you drive a motorcycle you cant be relaxed as when you have ACC in a car and you sit back and talk... In a motorcycle you need all your senses awaken all the time. I dont feel comfortable using it in my Rally pro.. its a mistake for triumph though that its not an adaptive CC.

I agree with the perception of ACC on motorcycles. I'm not sure what exactly the perfect use for it would be. Yet some claim that they enjoy it and appreciate having it.

Man, thanks for a very well made comparison video on this two adventure big bikes. In first place I think that both this bikes are 90% used by their owners on asphalt, so I understand that your comparison doesn’t focus too much on their off-road capabilities, once that they are all around type of bikes and mostly prepared for touring purposes than any other of their possible uses. The Ducati has a strong argument on cinematic and photography appealing over the Triumph, but for me, things turn the other way around when you see them in the flesh. And if you ride them it becomes more and more clear. The Triumph is not a particular good looking adventure bike, but the difference between what you see on social media or video is not significant different from experience. To me, structurally the Triumph inspires more confidence, for longer rides or for traveling, not like the GS, but comes closer. The “X factor”, counts very little for me on this kind of assets value but the commercial value on second hand bike is an important factor. I think that it will depend on the parameters of each specific market and it Varys from place to place. On mine, this two brands are niche brands, so I think that they would be similarly bad valued on second hand market. The mechanism of the wind shield on the Triumph is to level on a position and to forget about it. The one on the Ducati is better and functional, but the wind shield protection on the Honda Transalp that is not adjustable and that is a bike of a different category, solves the issue, probably better than both!? The same on the Husqvarna 901 Expedition? I don’t like to ride with backpack luggage so, I normally value the panniers system of the brands on this adventure/ touring type of bikes. The ones that you find on the GS vario, the ones of the BMW S 1000 XR, to give two exemplary models that have a clean way to design and incorporate that accessories without interfering negatively on the looks of the bike and that are pretty functional. So, for me that type of detailing is a factor of choice. I normally use solely the side panniers on bikes, exception made in the RT that I find the top case bearable and well inserted in the whole concept of the bike design. If it were a matter of deciding between these two bikes, I think I would go for the Triumph with little enthusiasm 😅 Thanks once more for the video👌🏻

Hi, thanks for sharing that! Yeah, these are still wardrobes on wheels that might stress us out when offroading more than delivering any sort of fun and joy. On a side note - I recently spent some time with Norden 901. The details are for later though ;). As for the Tiger and V4, I sometimes feel like I might switch my preference over to a Tiger 1200 because of its comfort and more trust in the brand actually. Ducati tends to annoy me from time to time with their strange doings in general, and then when incorporating very not user-friendly solutions in their motorcycles. I just gave back a Ducati DesertX and this may be the reason for my comment here but... well, those general impressions also do have some influence when it comes to talking about other products of a brand. Cheers!

@@VToldsMotoShow Dear V-Told, Thanks for your reply. I know that you have great preference to test all around bikes but in the Triumph brand there is an iconic line of bikes named the Bonneville line. They have two bikes, off-road capable but no one, or even no one, takes them off-road in real life but they’re definitely good road bikes, heavy and a little expense to put them in the dirt. The Triumph Scrambler 1200 XC and XE model. If you had curiosity to test them I really would like to know what would be your impressions about that Triumph bikes👌🏻

I’m fighting myself right now over whether to purchase the Triumph Rally vs BMW GS1200 TE or the Ducati Multistrada. I look forward to test driving them all! Based of initial impressions, my favourite for looks is the BMW, followed by the Triumph and last place to Ducati. But oh to own a Ducati… it’s just the badge, but damn that would make me a very happy rider. All are incredible bikes. Mine will be a toy, short weekend blast, so I’m looking for fun and performant but also safe and utilitarian. Being capable of touring is really just a plus, for the 1-2 times it may get used for that.

Let me tell you this - based on your short description: get a Ducati. It won't be behind in any aspect a lot in comparison to BMW or Triumph, in some like performance it will be ahead but to me seeing that there's certain emotions associated with riding a Ducati is a sign that it's the best choice for you. And I totally get it! Absolutely get a Ducati then. If you're thinking about a V4, it's right there on top along with the others. It may be more expensive but if you can swallow that, you'll most likely really be the happiest with it.

Friend has a 1200 Rally Pro. I have a V4S. Both amazing bikes, but I went with the V4S because my use case is mostly touring and it has a much more usable seat height for my height-challenged ass. The radar cruise is also a godsend when you need a break compared to having to constantly adjust your speed on standard cruise control. I wish the V4S had shaft drive as chain maintenance kind of sucks, but it’s a small price to pay for such an entertaining high strung motorcycle.

I agree quite about all, you can completely solve the wind protection problem with a new screen, I put a new WRS screen and it works very well also for the passenger. Black color for gt pro looks really better. The engine heat of V4 is really a big big issue in summer. For me, considering the difference in price, gt pro wins! There's a problem ! You can't disabile the anti wheeling and you have a speed limiter at 204 km/h, I don't undestand why.
@VToldsMotoShow

That speed limiter is strange, I admit... Windshield issues can be solved indeed so it's just the adjustment systems that may still make some difference. That heat is really something on a Ducati though.

The Ducati is a technically superior bike with more power but the price differential (in Australia at least) is too much. There is a 25% premium here on an already expensive pair of bikes. If you need the extra HP and want bragging rights then pick the Ducati if you can afford it. I looked at both before buying the Tiger and couldn't justify it...plus the Tiger is more comfortable, which is important on a touring bike. Fuel range is also a big minus for the Ducati. That performance 4 is very thirsty.

There are areas where the Tiger outperforms the Multistrada and if they're the deciding ones, then to those it's simply a better bike. Comfort may matter and Tiger 1200 is really amazing here.

Hello gentlemen, (?) I actually own a 2023 Triumph Tiger 1200 GT Pro and before I bought it, I did a fair bit of homework and went for some testrides. I love my Tiger for it's power, which is enough for me, don't need any more, since I already got a speed ticket on the first day I owned it 🤭 I love the way it handles while riding it, although it can be a bit heavy to manoeuvre with in parking spots. I can't get it on the center stand and when I ask my son or husband to do that for me, I can't get it off either 😆 Is that a dealbreaker for me? Obviously not. I just don't use the center stand when I'm alone. I have the low (heated) seat and it's great. So far, I had to buy expensive aftermarket seats for all my previous bikes, because I had a very annoying pain in the b#tt after one hour of riding. Not on the Tiger though. The height is just right for me; I'm 1.72 m but I have long legs, so I can flatfoot it. The weight is a bit too much, but once I'm off, it feels light as a feather (I only weigh 56 kilo's, but I'm doing exercises to make my muscles stronger and it seems to work) I guess any bike would be a bit too heavy for me 😅 I can ride this bike for many hours without getting all kinds of pain. I'm 57 years old, so I just need a little bit of comfort 🙄 I'm not having any issues with the windscreen either. Don't want it taller, because I want to keep looking over it instead of through it. I have custom made earplugs with good filters ( and speakers 🥰) so I'm not bothered by the noise too much. The suspension works fine for me, there's not that much difference for me as it would be if I weighed more I guess. I don't like the diving very much, but all my previous bikes did that, so I don't know any better. I think that the suspension is way more comfortable than any previous bike I've owned so far. I love the shaft drive. It saves me so much time in cleaning the bike. The grease goes everywhere! Now I take half a bucket of water and a cloth and the bike is brandnew again after half an hour or less. I takes me more time to get the thing on the center stand 🤣 I have the Triumph top box and side cases and at first, I was a bit impressed and was a bit unsure if I would be able to get it straight up from it's side stand with filled cases, but strangely enough, I hardly noticed the cases being there. Except that one time, riding through a long, long taffic jam on the German autobahn, touching a rubber light on a large truck with one of the side cases. Nothing happened though and no scratches. Also getting on the bike and putting it straight up with cases and luggage is way easier than I imagined. My husband and son were convinced that I would drop it. Yeah, they really have a lot of confidence in me 🤨 I don't like the ground clearance. I recently scraped the pegs and I don't like that. I'm considering buying the Lone Rider ones that lack the thingy that sticks out, but I might also just remove that thingy, I don't know yet. Also, don't forget the quickshifter. It's quite smooth and works fine. Not perfect, but almost. I really like having it. I don't like the fact that 'Neutral' is hard to find, but I'm getting used to that. Don't like the higher revs when you close the throttle, but I'm also getting used to that. When I want to go really slow, I either use the clutch or the rear brake. Easy. Rear brake while coming to a full stop also works perfectly if you want to make a nice smooth stop. Just put your left foot on the ground instead of the other one and put the bike in first gear. You can't find neutral anyway 😂 I like the TFT screen, but the connectivity and navigation is crap. I'm not using it. The bike doesn't start when my bluetooth Quad Lock gear is on. But I got used to that as well. Just start the bike before you turn on the blue tooth switch for the Quad Lock device. There are probably some more things I forgot to mention, but in all, the Triumph Tiger 1200 GT Pro is a fantastic bike. I'm the only one riding it and I could make my own choice without the influence of others, except for my husband and son who kept telling me the bike would be way too big for me, but lately they keep quiet 🤣 I just love this bike. V4S is nice as well, love the looks, but the price....not so much 😚

However, some videos are already there waiting to be edited so please excuse those few. I think I even made some comment on it along the way but I'm not sure so we will see. There are certain benefits that this segment of motorcycles delivers that aren't anywhere else. I also am discovering how interesting the lower segment of midsize ADV motorcycles can be. KTM seems to be the king there but there are other manufacturers too and the choice seems to be even larger and more diversified. Anyhow, I'm also disappointed that Ducati dropped a V2 in the top-of-the-range Multistrada.

The Ducati is sexy and has that Italian flair with a V4. However the driveshaft and mag rims on British makers new design does seem like something I would prefer as well as the maintenance intervals and I like doing my own vs. owning a Ducati that most likely must be taken to the dealership every time. I own a TT1200 GT Pro. I had the wind blowing under the peak of my helmet with the original windshield. As a solution, I bought a WRS windshield, it is 5 cm higher and 4 cm wider than the original. Better for touring. What I don't like at all about the TT1200 is the dashboard. It is slow, not very informative, absolutely not suitable for a touring motorcycle. Has anyone even used the original Triumph navigator? Seriously, for travel?

@@VToldsMotoShow Cheers! In fact, the GT Pro is my second, or actually my third Triumph Tiger 1200. The first, which was an '18 XRT, I rode for four years and 25 thousand kilometers. It was a good bike. I especially liked the sound of the engine, it was like the turbo had started at medium revs. And it was smoooooth... The other, a '22 Rally Pro, I crashed on the Polish highway on the way back from Italy. The bike make wobbling and threw me off at speed 170 km/h. 🚑The bike was one and a half months old. The geometry of the Rally Pro was different, the front end was so much higher that it didn't blow down the helmet peak like that. It was a surprise to me that the "nose" of the GT Pro is so far down. Now I'm driving a GT Pro and I'm happy. The height of the bike is now right. Me don't really interact with the dashboard, and there's not much to see there.😁 Your videos are to the point, keep it up!
