I’ve owned both. I loved the sound of the v8. But now with my new exhaust my T6 sounds better. It pops, has turbo whistle and is faster than the V8. The low end torque is insane. The car is faster than most cars without going of 3k rpm

Would you say that the jerky throttle on/off can be remedied with some clutch work?
@Cualquier-w1k3 күн бұрын
what about slow manoeuvring and tight u-turns with asa? The only thing I would miss the clutch for are exactly those. With my 1250 I rarely use clutch shifting up and down on the road but rather use the quick shifter

It is amazing how individuals come away with differing views about many motorcycles. With having 48 years of riding, 15 years of racing and track riding experience I find the new Stelvio to be one of the best out of the 41 motorcycles I have owned. Previous adventure bikes have been a 2018 Kawasaki Versys 1000 LT SE, and a 22 Ducati Multistrada V4s Travel and Radar, both of which I did not like at all. The Kawasaki engine while reliable was choked down and while it claims 120hp I have my doubts, the Ducati was a real disappointment all the way around, I never could gel with that bike and had a two year love hate relationship with it. The new Stelvio to me is hands down better bike to me, performance is very good, the engine has a wide power band with good low end performance while being able to pull all the way through the rev range. Handling is superb, great feel and excellent stability. I have never experienced the bike wanting to stand up under any conditions, sounds like the suspension was not set up properly. Stelvio is extremely comfortable, with the addition of the heated seat and grips it is a great place to spend hours in the saddle. I don't do hard core off road riding, but fire roads, and dirt paths are no problem. This is a truly great machine in my opinion. 12-13k less than the Duc and a much better machine for me.
@mikaellundsrensen61086 күн бұрын
I have a V85TT, I have had it for 4 years, I like it, the handling is almost perfect for the type of bike, rock solid and predictable, (I cannot quite recognise your description of it?).It has been quite reliable, it is NOT a sewing machine, it's a rock and roll rumble feeling, and it has the Guzzi soul, if you want a sewing machine go somewhere else. I guess Moto Guzzi is the kind of bike you either get, or you don't. And I get it 👍 BUT!, and that is a big BUT! At least here in DK the now lack of dealerships , (only 2 left) and poor support (slow ) from factory combined with the fact that I need a working bike everyday, has "forced" me to buy a Japanese workhorse standing next to it, slowly the workhorse has taken over more and more of my driving, and today, if forced, the Moto Guzzi had to go. Too bad, it's a beautiful bike somehow let down by its own creator.

Thanks for a very nicely done video and for reminding me that I have to test drive the F900GS next spring. I am just curious how it feels compared to my F750GS, which is of course more street oriented. Very beautiful neighborhood by the way.

I was “blessed” with the keyless fuel cap on my 1250 GS which several times didn’t work and had to use tools to get it open. I think “cursed” is a better word. Just give me a simple key.

For me the 16l fuel tank is a deal breaker. I love the 20l tank on the KTM 890AR coupled with the amazing fuel consumption. Riding like a fool, it still enables a range of near 400km.

@hghazoly2 I have a 2004 950 Adventure in the garage with over 140k miles on it. It's been very reliable. I've covered over 25k miles on my 890AR without a problem. People have been telling me that KTMs are unreliable for over 20 years. It hasn't been my experience.

I had the same bike for 10 years and done over 50.000 miles on it and totally agree with your review. I think some of your viewers have forgotten your judging these bikes relative to other bikes you have also reviewed. Most of the bike testers on KZbin don’t want to say anything negative in fear of not being loaned bikes to test.

Thanks for comparing the two and taking the time to produce this video. I think that the best thing about the new 900GS is that it made the 850GS a great and affordable second-hand bike. The 900GS is a departure from the comfy 850GS used by riders who rarely do anything more than gravel and fire roads (that's me by the way). The 900GS is clearly off-road focused and less long-distance tourer. hence the smaller fuel tank, small none non-adjustable screen and no rear rack. I am in the market and the 850GS (or even the 800GS) are now higher on my list.

The most interesting thing about the suspensions is it makes the GS feel a little bit wild, I assume this may be influenced by the low weight and possibly other factors too. While the previous generation and the biggest competitor feel more "unbothered" by whatever the road and the rider throw at them, new GS feels wilder. Unlike KTM, it never gets uncomfortable, in fact it is still one of the more comfortable machines out there but the feeling is different... It is also smaller, I got 95 cm (~38 in) inseam and the fit felt just-so. Were I a bit taller, it could have been uncomfortable, which is a stark difference from previous BMWs which were made to fit large people too. But unlike Tiger or SAS, it still works well with my height. Smaller people have also commented on this, although it is a plus for them. The automatic gearbox is an interesting addition, I didn't like it on Africa but ~50% of people buy it so it definitely has potential to sell. With KTM introducing it too, I wonder what the response of Ducati will be as they could be missing the train against their biggest competitors.

Regrding the one Lamp only Issue: in germany at least a few years back there Even has been a rule that a ´single line‘ vehicle (bike) is Not allowed to have two headlights active in Order to safely recognize it as such. Imagine the same for two back lights beeing close together. I can Imagine there is a Risk some driver behind at Bad sight or tired condition might confuse such bike with a car still beeing far away in Front of him Even though in Reality it is pretty (too) close already. There might be other countries where this Applies which might be the reason for this Design…?

Follow-up to my (much) earlier post. Owned a 2023 S from new, 18 months and 21000 km. No mechanical problems apart from occasionally slipping out of 2nd gear during the running-in period. I added the tech pack, centre stand, heated grips, and twin touratech panniers. The bike's a gem, it does everything I want it to do, and more. Yes, it's capable off-road. Maybe not for competition, but when the GPS sends me off onto tracks, it handles them fine. I'd only change it for a Husqvarna Norden 901 or a 1290 Adventure, but honestly, there'd be no need, as the bike is perfectly capable as it is.
